As the head of the RFW press center Maria Kravchenko said, in the halls of the World Trade Center on Krasnaya Presnya and at certain venues, shows of famous Russian fashion designers will be held, most of whom are regular participants of the Week. “Five finalists of the Russian Silhouette competition, whose task is to support young domestic designers, will also present their works,” she added.

Tatyana Parfenova, Elena Makashova, Max Chernitsov, Yulia Dalakyan, Elena Suprun, Sergey Teplov, Dmitry Loginov, Konstantin Gayday, Fresh Art, Chistova & Endourova, Masha Sharoeva, Leonida Alekseeva, Yegor Zaitsev and other permanent and new participants will present their new collections at RFW. Overseas guests at RFW include the names of Spanish fashion stars Armand Basi, Isabel de Pedro and British Jenny Packham.

The second day of the Week will be marked by men's fashion, and on Tuesday, April 1, the theme of the shows will be Spain. “The fashion industry of the homeland of Goya, Dali and Picasso is gaining more and more influence in the world. 14 leading Spanish brands of clothing, footwear and accessories will show their collections at once,”said Kravchenko.

In turn, in 2008 Russian participants of RFW will be able to demonstrate their collections on international catwalks themselves. “RFW has long established fruitful ties with the world's Fashion Weeks. This year, the works of the participants of the Russian Fashion Week can be seen in Milan, Athens, Seoul, Lisbon and Los Angeles. Our task is to try to destroy stereotypes regarding Russian fashion, to show that our designers have their own view of world fashion trends,”explained the head of the press center.
