The ballet troupe of the Bolshoi Theater is now successfully touring London, but, unfortunately, it cannot do without incidents. Thus, the prima ballerina Maria Alexandrova, performing one of the main parts of the ballet La Bayadere, was injured right during the performance. Due to the injury, Alexandrova was forced to leave the stage, but the artists demonstrated the highest class and continued the performance.

Instead of Maria, the artist of the corps de ballet Daria Bochkova took the stage. The audience at Covent Garden was delighted and awarded the artists with deafening applause.

35-year-old Maria Alexandrova has been performing with the Bolshoi Ballet Company since 1997. In an interview, the artist said that for her dance is a tool for transforming the world. “And it’s when words are no longer enough,” said the ballerina. “And that's why I want Russian people to be proud of their ballet dancers, of what they can and can do. IM proud of. I love ballet dancers very much. They are complex, strange, painful, inadequate, and the more I love them. I am ready for the fact that for years I have been creating my story and I will never know in advance whether it will remain in eternity. Nobody knew Bach for 200 years. This attitude of time to your story does not negate a great job."

According to the director of the Bolshoi, Alexandrov is now in the hospital. “Unfortunately, not a single ballet dancer is immune from such injuries. And Masha Alexandrova had a very active creative season. In addition, in June she participated in a long tour in Australia, where she was the main character. And already in July she came to perform in London. I hope the British doctors will help our wonderful artist return to the stage as soon as possible,”Vladimir Urin told ITAR-TASS.

As noted, the trauma of the prima will not affect the Bolshoi's tour schedule in London.
