Researchers have collected data on the size of the penis of more than 15 thousand men from all regions of the world from medical practitioners using a unified measurement procedure. This massive dataset allowed scientists to calculate averages and model the statistical distribution of different sized penis sizes.
First of all, scientists have found that the penis in a relaxed state on average in the world reaches 9, 16 cm in length, in an erect state - 13, 12 cm. And only five out of a hundred men have a genital organ longer than 16 centimeters. Also rarely seen are penises shorter than nine centimeters.
As a result of the analysis, scientists now also argue that the length of the penis is independent of other anatomical features - be it height, body mass index or shoe size. There was no correlation between the size of the genitals and the nationality and race of men.
But it was found that 55% of men are satisfied with the size of their dignity, writes Lenta.ru. The lead author of the article, psychiatrist David Veale, believes that negative feelings about the length of one's own penis are an important psychological problem. “Men tend to underestimate the size of their penis, relying on extremely inaccurate data on its length in other men,” the specialist explains.
According to scientists, the directors of pornographic films, who select actors for the size of their genitals, are partly to blame for this, as well as the authors of numerous spam messages, where 17, 78 centimeters are often called the "norm".
