Regular cleaning of the car's interior is just as important as regular checking of its technical condition. This is especially true for car owners with children or pets. A dirty interior not only looks sloppy, but can also affect the health of the driver and passengers due to the large amount of dust, allergens, and in some cases even mold. Dry cleaning of the salon at a car wash will cost several thousand rubles and does not always guarantee the proper quality of the service. Dyson engineers tell you how to independently clean the interior of a car quickly and efficiently, having on hand a minimum set of tools and a vacuum cleaner (as an example, the Dyson V11 Absolute Extra Pro cordless vacuum cleaner model is used).
Step 1. Prepare
Proper preparation will help to make the process of cleaning the car comfortable. Collect the required tools nearby. Checklist of what you need:
- Vacuum cleaner with attachments (crevice nozzle, hard bristle nozzle for stubborn dirt, soft bristle nozzle, combination nozzle and mini electric brush);
- Garbage bags;
- Bags or containers for temporary storage of things from the car;
- Wet towels.
Step 2. Unload the vehicle
The first step is to open all the doors of the car and ventilate the interior before cleaning. Then collect all the trash from the car in the prepared bags, making sure to check the space under the seats, pockets and cup holders. Place items in a separate bag or container that you would normally keep in your car but do not intend to throw away, such as sunglasses, pens, and notepads. Before cleaning, it is important to unload the car as much as possible and free up space so that nothing will interfere with you when cleaning. Remove the foot mats from the car and you can start cleaning the interior.
Step 3. Start with the seats
It is more correct to start cleaning from top to bottom, as any dirt and dust settles on the seats and the surface under them. Start at the front of the vehicle, pushing both seats as far back as possible. Vacuum all seat seams using the crevice tool. Pay special attention to the seam where the backrest connects to the bottom of the seat, as this is where the most dirt and debris collects. Then use a Dyson mini power brush and slowly vacuum the seat upholstery, removing all dirt, including invisible dust and allergens that can accumulate in upholstered furniture. For intensive cleaning of stubborn dirt, the Turbo mode is ideal.
After the main elements of the seats have been cleaned, use the crevice tool again and vacuum under the seats and along the seat adjustment rails. To thoroughly clean hard-to-reach areas, you can use the illuminated nozzle to illuminate dark areas, or the flexible FLEXI crevice nozzle for awkward corners. Do the same for all the seats.
Step 4. Clean the front panels
Remove dust and dirt from the front of your car using the soft nylon bristle combo nozzle. Vacuum the dashboard and the space between the air conditioning vents carefully. Use a damp towel to remove any marks or stains on the dashboard. Let it dry completely.
Do not forget about the side pockets in the doors of the car, which also need to be cleaned. Use the crevice tool and Turbo mode to remove crumbs and seemingly invisible dirt, even in tight corners. If stains remain on the bottom, remove them with a damp towel or tissue.
Step 5. Eliminate stubborn dirt
For stubborn dirt, such as dried dirt or food stains, the brush head with stiff bristles can help. Additionally, you can use a little cleaning agent. Thanks to the durable polypropylene body, household chemicals will not damage the nozzle. If you don't have a stiff bristle brush on hand, you can use the combo nozzle by pushing the soft nylon bristles up. It is wide enough to cover a large surface while cleaning, thus simplifying work. The vacuum cleaner's thick nylon bristles penetrate deeply into carpets and rugs, removing even stubborn dirt. After removing the most difficult dirt, vacuum the interior.
After cleaning the cabin, you can return to the rugs, vacuum them and place them in an already clean cabin. The most convenient way to do this is to use the combined nozzle. Make sure you clean the floor mats on both sides so that dirt stuck to the underside of the carpet does not get into the already clean interior of the car. Cleaning is over! Return all items from the container and enjoy a clean car.
