The razor is the most familiar way for me. I usually use it. And I think that many girls also choose this method of removing excess hair. Fast and inexpensive. Of course, you have to repeat it often - after 3-4 days. But sometimes you can be lazy and walk around in jeans.

I prefer male machines. I do not see any strong differences between women and men. On assignment, I was given a machine from the new Gilette line - no complaints. Electric epilator

I have never used an epilator before, but I wanted to try it for a long time. And so I was given a wonderful Braun device - moreover, it turned out to be not just a razor, but a whole spa system with a bunch of attachments - for epilation of the body, armpits and face, and even a massager for exfoliating the body.

It is better not to use a deodorant after hair removal, the skin will calm down overnight, and in the morning you can safely apply it.

I decided not to postpone the procedure indefinitely and, having read the instructions, got down to business. I decided to start with the armpits. The instructions said that epilation can be done on both dry and damp skin, I decided to test it on dry. The device has two speed modes and a special illumination so as not to miss a single hair. She turned it on, put her hand behind her head and started. The sensations were not the most pleasant, it was painful, but, in principle, bearable. I think that over time it is easy to get used to it, especially since I did it not on steamed skin, but on dry one. It is better not to use a deodorant after hair removal, the skin will calm down overnight, and you can safely apply it in the morning.

Before epilating my legs, I applied a scrub on a special attachment - it exfoliates the skin and lifts the hairs, the instructions say to carry out the procedure 1-2 days before epilation. The skin was steamed and moist, so hairs were removed much better and less painful than with dry epilation. After the procedure, the skin became soft and smooth. There were slight redness, but I have sensitive skin. I applied a soothing balm, and in the morning there was no discomfort.

In general, my acquaintance with the epilator was successful. And the result lasted for about two weeks.

Waxing

I also tried waxing in the salon for the first time in my life. I was very afraid, because, having read and heard enough, I imagined terrible pain.

In the salon, beautician Yulia met me and took me to the office - a cozy one with dim lights and relaxing music. I opted for underarm epilation. The master said that when waxing, they usually use pink or chocolate wax, they are quite dense in consistency and allow you to remove even very short hair. They decided to make my epilation pink.

The temperature of the wax is about 57 degrees, it is applied to a special oil. Ideal for hair removal - 5-7 mm long. First, a cleanser is applied to the skin, then the oil, and then the wax itself. The application procedure is standard - along the hairline. The wax is warm and soft, like a paste, the smell is pleasant. He froze very quickly, and, closing my eyes, I prepared for the most terrible thing - tearing away. Julia quickly ripped off the wax and … I was very surprised - the pain is practically not felt. "Wow," I wondered. Julia showed me the wax: "This is because it is very flexible." I touched it - and it really looks like plasticine.

With the second armpit, Yulia did the same procedure, and again there was almost no pain.

The final stage is the application of a cleanser. After the procedure, no discomfort - no pain, no discomfort.

I asked Julia about contraindications. Waxing should not be done if the skin is damaged, with papillomas, varicose veins. After the procedure, you cannot take a hot bath or go to the solarium during the day. The procedure must be repeated depending on individual characteristics - once every two weeks or once a month.

I honestly believed that laser hair removal is a long and rather painful process, so I agreed to it with caution. Decided to epilate legs. The day before the procedure, I massaged the skin with a scrub. Arriving at the salon, I lay down on the couch and got ready.

The master asked if I shaved my legs, I replied that I shaved with an epilator a week ago. As it turned out, before the procedure, it is imperative to shave the skin with a razor, and not with an epilator or wax.

The principle of operation of laser hair removal is as follows: the laser acts on the bulb and destroys the hair, black hairs fall out, and light ones become thinner, grow less often and gradually also fall out.

Before epilation, you need to wear special glasses so that there are no negative consequences for the eyes. First, a neutral lotion is applied to the skin, as the laser heats up the skin very much. Do not epilate dry skin. In addition, the lotion helps to see the already treated areas. The master said that epilation is done on small waves, that is, very quickly and over a large surface, so there should be no unpleasant sensations. The only discomfort may be in the area of the bone. Indeed, I did not feel any pain, only in the area of the bone there was a feeling that something hot was applied.

The whole procedure went very quickly and took about 15 minutes. At the end, a moisturizing and softening lotion was applied to the skin. There was no discomfort and redness, as after using wax or an epilator.

Contraindications for the procedure are pregnancy, taking certain medications, skin damage, inflammation or illness. Two weeks before and two weeks after epilation, do not sunbathe, as the skin can get burned, you can only epilate the skin with a razor. Directly after laser hair removal, you can take a shower, but not a hot bath. The course takes on average from 6-7 to 10-12 procedures, depending on the characteristics of the hair. The result of such a course is that the hair stops growing at all.

Considering that the procedure is quick and painless, and the prospect of getting rid of hairs forever seems very tempting, I think that in a month I will return to the salon to complete the entire course.
