10 autumn trends: textures and fantasies

Summer is in full swing, while clothing manufacturers are busy preparing for the new fall-winter season. What trends are promising to become especially popular? What colors will the coming autumn be painted in?..

Invasion of textures

This summer has been declared the "season of color" and the main favorites of the designers are materials painted in uncompromisingly bright colors. In autumn, fashion will take a step in a completely different direction: all attention will no longer be paid to the palette of fabrics, but to their texture. The more expressive the texture of the material, the better: it can be knitwear of large, bulky knitting; woolen pile fabrics; bouclé fabrics; textured leather; patent leather with a "wrinkled" surface; various fur and stuff, and so on.

Autumn look: brutal luxury

Karl Lagerfeld offered a completely unexpected interpretation of the "timeless" classics of Chanel - harsh and dramatic. The image of the post-apocalypse heroine is painted in ascetic colors, with muted flashes of emerald and burgundy, in soft textured fabrics, loose silhouettes and unexpected stylistic solutions: traditional "Chanel" jackets are combined with wide trousers, turning into overalls - such is the look at post-apocalyptic luxury.

Warm color

This autumn promises to be truly cozy - which is facilitated by the colors of the new collections. Favorite - warm, "warming" colors, such as coral, terracotta, fiery red, saffron, spicy shades of yellow and orange. The perfect fall item to brighten up the gloomiest days is a dress or coat in a soft, non-aggressive shade of red.

Brilliantly

Among the most relevant autumn textures are leather with a varnished surface, as well as its various imitations, up to the thinnest elastic fabrics with a “varnish” effect. A win-win option is black patent leather, from which skirts and trousers, raincoats and accessories are made. Modern things made of patent leather, as a rule, have a classic cut and moderate volume, and therefore in no way look vulgar!

A uniform

We are waiting for another interpretation of the military style - this time feminine and even slightly defiant. Notes of fetishism sound in the autumn collections of such famous houses as Louis Vuitton and Versace - their “paramilitary” raincoats and coats clearly outline the figure and have playful details, but are balanced by a strict, ascetic color scheme.

Autumn look: garcon

The obvious signs of androgyny in the Chanel collection are woolen trousers with arrows, overalls, “soldier's” boots. Dolce and Gabbana are developing the same theme, but in a completely different way. "Boy" looks from the Dolce & Gabbana collection strive for more elegance and perky retro-chic: male-cut jackets with extended shoulders and large lapels, suspenders, multi-colored oxford shoes, hats.

Sequins to the maximum

Sequins have migrated from evening wear to everyday wear - while significantly increasing in size. The main trendsetters of our time, Miuccia Prada and Marc Jacobs, adorned their products with such fashionable "scales".

Polka dot dress

The pattern, which is now called the polka dot by fashion commentators, has once again captured the imagination of fashion designers. Today, a skillful combination of "polka dots" of different sizes, but in the same color scheme, is welcomed, as well as peas not as a pattern, but, for example, in the form of perforation, like in David Koma, or in the form of an applique, like in Stella McCartney.

Fall Look: American Classics

This season, designers who have decided to look for inspiration in retro styles have walked through even decades: 1920s, 1940s, 1960s. The forties make themselves felt not only with the military style or the deliberately exaggerated shoulder line, but also with images from the classics of Hollywood cinema - for example, Miuccia Prada "copied" her collection for Miu Miu from the wardrobe of American film actress Bett Davis.

Structurally

Other fashionable drawings are no less graphic and most often refer us to the works of constructivist artists. Geometric shapes - triangles, circles and squares - are folded into various ornaments, symmetrical, like in a kaleidoscope, or deliberately asymmetrical, monochrome or multi-colored.

1920s

A reference to the era of the 1920s is read not only in the love of constructivism, but also in the silhouettes characteristic of those years, and in the corresponding decoration. We are offered dresses of the "jazz era" - with a low waistline or without it at all, decorated with long fringes or elaborate embroidery.

Autumn look: oriental chic

A reference to the 1920s is read in the new Hermès collection - straight, calm silhouettes, flowing lines, low waistline. The cut of individual items tells about the shapes of Chinese caftans and Japanese kimonos. The palette of the collection is also permeated with oriental philosophy and varies from shades of the desert - sandy brown and ivory - to "imperial" red, orange, jade.

Animal world

"Portrait" of a pet on a jumper is a good form; a knitted scarf with a knitted leopard instead of a fur boa is a great idea! In the summer, flowers and fruits "stayed" on our dresses, and in the fall, birds and animals will settle here.

Imitations

Sometimes the texture of the material may not be what it seems. Colorful knitwear in the spirit of “grandma's rugs” from the House of Holland and Christopher Kane collections turns out to be … a print printed on the surface of the leather, and voluminous knitted braids suddenly turn into a flat pattern on a silk dress. The most "eco-friendly" of all pseudo-textures is a drawing in the form of a cut of a tree, which creates an unusual visual effect.

Inspired by the past, designers undoubtedly think about the future, the clothes of which seem to them as minimalistic as possible. In the clothes of the "heroine of the future", the cornerstone is placed on a single design idea, brought to the absolute - for example, an unexpected print imitating the texture of crumpled foil applied to an extremely laconic product, as in the Stella McCartney collection.
