The maximum number of training sessions per week is no more than 37 hours. At the moment, the child does not have the opportunity to choose which subjects in the 8th grade he will study. The list of compulsory subjects for the 2019-2020 academic year is approved by the Ministry of Education (Moscow).

In some schools, subjects such as music and technology are not taught in 8th grade. These subjects are included in the federal program prescribed by the Federal State Educational Standard, but many educational institutions refuse to include these subjects in the lesson schedule.
