Singer Mariah Carey can be congratulated. Now she is a bride! The day before, the artist and her lover, Australian businessman James Packer, officially announced their engagement.

Mariah and James have been dating for less than a year, but the couple seems to have really strong feelings. According to TMZ, Packer proposed to his girlfriend in a romantic setting. He invited the 45-year-old singer to the fashionable New York restaurant Eleven Madison Park, where he also secretly invited her close friends in advance. In their presence, he knelt down and proposed to his beloved. Carey simply could not say no.

As specified, Packer ranks fourth in the list of the richest residents of Australia - his fortune is estimated at 4.5 billion dollars. Carey is one of the best-selling female singers in music history.
