Many show business stars have to choose between a normal family life and a successful career. Oscar-winning actress Hilary Swank has long prioritized work. But now the star intends to take a break and devote herself to her father.
Now the parent of the celebrity Stephen Swank is recovering from lung transplant surgery. “My dad lives with me now,” the actress told HuffPost. - And I look after him myself. It will take a certain amount of time, but in principle it is not that much. I received several job offers, but I refused. I have to be with my father now. I cannot turn back time and allow myself to regret not being able to take care of my father during this time. And you know, this is a real honor for me."
In October 2011, Hilary Swank, despite warnings from international human rights organizations, took part in a concert in Grozny (Chechnya) dedicated to the 35th anniversary of Ramzan Kadyrov. Later, due to the negative public outcry, she had to make excuses and apologize. The actress stated that she did not know anything about the violation of human rights in Chechnya and regrets her participation in the concert. She also promised to donate the received royalties to charity.
It's worth noting that Hillary hasn't received too many offers lately. Last year, only one film with her participation, "You are not you", was released on the screen. The filming of a drama starring Swank was recently announced, based on The Dock Story: My Day in Court with a Holocaust Denier. True, it is not yet clear whether the actress is going to refuse to participate in the previously discussed projects.
