Want to keep your figure slim? Communicate more with others. Chat with co-workers, visit hobby groups, and generally lead an active social life. As scientists from Ohio University have found, such socialization is much more effective in terms of maintaining a normal weight than grueling workouts.

Scientists conducted an experiment on laboratory mice. It turned out that communication with your own kind increases the concentration of brown fat in the body, which, in turn, burns calories in exchange for the production of heat. According to the results of the experiment, it turned out that living in a socially active, stimulating environment reduced the concentration of abdominal fat in mice by 50% in four weeks.

Also, experts noticed that socially active mice did not gain excess weight, even if they received more food. That is, this group of mice lost weight more actively than mice that lived outside of society.

According to scientists, during this stimulation, the abdominal white fat turns to brown. Namely, white fat makes us fuller. Doctors note that usually the process of transforming white fat into brown is quite laborious. And in order to achieve this effect under other conditions, you need to either stay in the cold for a long time, or expose part of your nervous system to activation.

"I am amazed at the results," said study leader Matthew Dühring, whose article was published in the journal Cell Metabolism. - During communication, you can lose much more excess weight than with the help of repetitive physical exercises. Fat conversion is usually very difficult to start. For example, it may take several months in the cold."

According to the expert, it is the lack of live communication among modern people, coupled with sedentary work and the use of high-calorie foods, that is the cause of the obesity epidemic that has swept the United States.
