Reproductive system abnormalities are spreading fairly quickly among women of any age. One of the manifestations of the pathology of the endocrine and immune systems, as well as complex inflammatory processes of the pelvic organs is breast mastopathy.

Of course, mastopathy is not an acute pathological condition, but every woman should know what it is, how to treat the disease and what it can lead to.

Etiological treatment of mastopathy

Etiological treatment is a radical effect on the cause of a pathological condition, which leads not only to a decrease in the manifestation of clinical symptoms of the disease, but also to complete elimination of it.

To successfully cure mastopathy, you need to identify the cause of the condition and know how to properly treat it.

Breast mastopathy - This is hyperplasia, dystrophy or tissue atrophy, that is, its abnormal growth due to accelerated or partially atypical cell proliferation. Mastopathy refers to background or precancerous diseases.

After the International Congress on Oncology, held in 1961, several postulates of the oncological process in the mammary gland were determined:

  1. Cancer does not develop in healthy tissue.
  2. Cancer is always preceded by any disease that contributes to pathological changes in the breast tissue.
  3. Diagnosis and etiological treatment of mastopathy is the basis for the prevention of breast cancer in women.

Causes of mastopathy and the possibility of their treatment

It must be said right away that at present there are no clear criteria for changes in breast tissue that can say about what breast cancer will be. In equal proportions, mastopathy leads and does not lead to breast cancer. It is only noticed that cancer always occurs against the background of developing mastopathy.

A detailed study of the causes of mastopathy allows you to understand how to effectively treat this disease at different stages of the development of the disease and the life of a woman.

The main role in the development of mastopathy is assigned to four factors:

  1. Genetic predisposition.
  2. Hormonal Disorders.
  3. Failure of immunological defense factors.

Chronic bacterial and viral diseases of the organs of the reproductive system (most often the genitals).

The age aspect in the causes of mastopathy:

  1. Hyperplastic processes of the cervix lead to mastopathy at any time in a woman's life.
  2. Endometrial pathology (the inner layer of the uterus) becomes the cause of mastopathy after 40–45 years. This trend is associated with a violation of immunological homeostasis in women and the development of involutive changes in all organs of the reproductive system associated with a decrease in the function of childbearing. Some authors cite figures linking the growing number of anovulatory cycles and the developing mastopathy.
  3. Taking estrogen in the postmenopausal period. Often, to relieve the main symptoms of menopause (disruption of the cardiovascular system, prevention of osteoporosis, hot flashes, burning sensation and discomfort in the vagina associated with involutive changes in the mucous membrane), gynecologists prescribe hormonal preparations containing estrogens.
  4. Taking steroid contraceptive drugs.

Interesting! Currently, Belarus has raised the issue of hyperplastic processes in the genital organs of women, which are associated with irradiation and the peculiarities of the environmental conditions in the country.

This problem is undergoing a detailed study and promises to provide answers to many unresolved questions in the topic of precancerous and background diseases in women.

Successful treatment of breast mastopathy at any age directly depends on how the causes of its occurrence are treated.

Important! Only the identification of the cause of mastopathy is the key to its successful treatment.

Causes and treatment of background and precancerous diseases in women

Depending on the anatomical location of the pathological process, which can lead to breast mastopathy, treatment depends:

  1. Vagina. The pathology of the mucous membrane and other layers of the vagina leads to hyperplastic processes in the mammary gland at a young age. The cause of this process is viruses (human papillomavirus, herpes), nonspecific inflammations caused by opportunistic flora, specific inflammatory processes (gonorrhea, chlamydia, etc.), ph-balance imbalance due to hygiene disorders. Inflammatory processes are treated with narrow antibiotics (Ampicillin). In case of ineffectiveness, antibacterial drugs of a wide spectrum of action are prescribed.
  2. Cervix. Recently, the causes of the pathology of this part of the organ include the concept of an early onset of sexual life and the frequent change of sexual partners. Also, the reasons include trauma (abortion), inflammatory processes of various etiologies and the use of hormonal contraceptives without controlling the level of hormones. Erosion of the cervix is the most dangerous background disease in terms of prognosis. Recently, most doctors believe that cervical erosion under 22 years of age should not be treated with radical methods. The cause of erosion can be hormonal instability, which normalizes after 22-23 years. It is necessary to monitor the state of the mucous membrane once every 3 months, observe the rules of intimate hygiene and monitor the state of the endocrine system.
  3. Endometrium of the uterus. The cause of breast mastopathy, which is accompanied by endometrial pathology, is considered to be relative or absolute hyperestrogenism, lack of sexual activity and pregnancy during the reproductive period, metabolic pathology (obesity, diabetes mellitus, etc.). Correction or treatment of these causes will quickly neutralize mastopathy and eliminate the risk of its transformation into an oncological process.
  4. Ovaries. If, together with the detection of the pathology of the uterine appendages, signs of mastopathy are determined, it is necessary to look for the cause of the disease in the pathology of the hormonal system. The pituitary gland, the thyroid gland, the external and internal function of the pancreas, in young girls the function of the bone marrow (blood condition) are subject to examination. Symptomatic or radical therapy, which is aimed at correcting hormone levels, is the main treatment for mastopathy caused by ovarian pathology.

In the treatment of breast mastopathy, a number of drugs of different directions are used:

  1. Hormone therapy … Antiestrogens, gestagens, combined oral contraceptives, inhibitors of prolactin secretion, androgens (in rare cases), analogs of the releasing hormone gonadotropin.
  2. Drug therapy, which does not affect hormonal levels. Antibiotics, antiviral, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs.
  3. General strengthening therapy. Vitamins, hepatoprotectors, immune stimulants.

Only a specialized obstetrician-gynecologist knows how to treat mastopathy and prescribes drugs, having previously studied the features of the onset of the disease, the nature of its course and symptoms.

When prescribing an effective treatment for breast mastopathy, it is taken into account:

  1. Patient's age.
  2. Duration of the illness.
  3. Clinical symptoms.
  4. Life history (number of pregnancies, births, etc.).
  5. Genetic predisposition to oncology.

Improper treatment of mastopathy leads to a deterioration in health and several times increases the risks of developing an oncological process against the background of unhealthy breast tissue.
