"The misconception that eating a lot of eggs is the cause of high blood cholesterol and heart problems must be corrected," says the scientist. Moreover, the expert stressed, eggs are an important part of a healthy diet, as they contain many different nutrients.
“Cholesterol is present in eggs, but usually does not affect blood cholesterol levels. If you want to lower your cholesterol levels, it is much more important to reduce your intake of saturated fats, which are abundant in fatty meats, fatty dairy products, biscuits and other flour products,”agreed Victoria Taylor, chief nutritionist at the British Heart Foundation (BHF).
