Mass vaccination has started in Russian regions. The overwhelming majority of people receive injections of the first ever registered Sputnik-V vaccine in the world, which is now gaining international recognition. There is a memo for those who will be given the drug, which lists the possible consequences and provides instructions on what to do if the temperature rises after the coronavirus vaccination.

Experts' opinions

The development and testing of new drugs to create immunity against coronavirus continues in Russia. Recently, there have been reports that, in addition to the already presented immunizing compositions - "Sputnik-V", "EpiVacCorona" (a drug based on an inactivated pathogen that has entered the final stage of testing), the latest development is being investigated. This is a vaccine "KoviVac" based on nanoparticles that mimic the virus, but are not.

A. Gintsburg, head of the N. I. Gamaleya, who developed the first vaccine registered in the emergency mode, gave detailed explanations about what to do if the temperature rises after vaccination against coronavirus or other negative symptoms appear.

Any immunizing drug, whatever is used in it to stimulate the immune system and produce antibodies, can potentially cause symptoms of an infectious disease. But this is not a disease, but its imitation, aimed at artificially re-creating a situation in which the body begins to respond appropriately, forming a stable protective barrier.

A. Altshtein, virologist, commenting on the few complaints about the deterioration of health after vaccination, explains that the symptoms that occur on the first day not only quickly pass, but are also a natural reaction of the body to an artificially simulated situation. Adenovirus, on which a part of the coronavirus protein genome is transported into the body, is a toxic protein that is unable to multiply and quickly decays in the body.

Its presence makes the body respond to a simulated infection, but in reality it is not, and the symptoms quickly pass. But the mechanism of counteraction has been launched, and antibodies are being produced against the artificially created genome of the coronavirus.

In an interview with RIA Novosti A. Gintsburg said that the temperature after vaccination can be brought down with paracetamol, vitamin complexes and painkillers from other categories will not interfere, for a while only cytostatics should be excluded.

The academician tested the vaccine on himself and a little earlier commented on rumors of terrible side effects, assuring that he himself had been vaccinated back in March, when Sputnik V was just being developed. Therefore, when asked what to do if the temperature rose after the coronavirus vaccination, he said that all side effects (for example, temperature) are easily removed with a paracetamol tablet.

A. Gunzburg is 68 years old, and he did not notice any side effects after vaccination.

Virologist A. Altstein gave the same recommendations in his interview. He is sure that you should not go to the doctor after a fever and other few consequences of immunization injections. This is a step that is only necessary for exceptional manifestations. Everything else goes away in a couple of days - pain relievers and antipyretics are taken just to make you feel better.

Basic instructions

Regardless of which vaccine is given, the response to immunization is individual. It all depends on how productively the body triggers the creation of stable immunity. According to the reviews of those who have already been vaccinated, the general symptomatology resembles the onset of influenza or ARVI - a person experiences symptoms of malaise that do not develop further.

What to do if the temperature rises after the coronavirus vaccination - take an antipyretic pill, in the most extreme case, rest a little and lie down. A doctor should be consulted in the following cases:

  • the temperature is high and does not subside for several days - these may be symptoms of another disease;
  • there are manifestations of allergies (skin symptoms, not more than 5% are susceptible), the doctor will prescribe a medicine for allergies;
  • weakness and nausea - rest and a reduction in physical activity are needed, the doctor may prescribe a release from work in case of temporary disability.

The Sputnik V vaccine has passed all stages of clinical trials, during which no contraindications or strong side effects have been registered. Infection after vaccination is impossible, since there is neither a live nor a dead pathogen in the preparation.

The creators of the composition recommend simply stopping unexpressed symptoms resembling an infection with SARS or influenza: take painkillers and antipyretics, gargle and use nasal sprays. These are not signs of a real infection, but a simulation of a process to stimulate the production of antibodies and the formation of immunity to the pathogen.

Outcomes

In a small percentage of cases, after vaccination, symptoms appear that resemble the first days of influenza or SARS. This is a normal reaction of the body when it detects that an infection is mimicked. Such symptoms are evidence of a neglected reaction to the presence of a pathogen. Their manifestations are individual and depend on the general state of health. For fever, you can take antipyretics, and for headaches - pain relievers.
