Once upon a time, royals were considered the "anointed of God." But we know that human weaknesses are not alien to monarchs. And annoying incidents with them occur no less often than with the average man in the street. So, the king of Spain Juan Carlos I (Juan Carlos I) appeared at an official meeting with a broken nose and a black eye.

The monarch's endurance can be envied. The 73-year-old king took part in a meeting with the new ambassadors of Sudan, Belgium, Malaysia, India and Cyprus, who presented him with credentials, despite their not very presentable appearance.

By the way, the monarch, without waiting for the journalists' questions, immediately announced: "This is what happens when you come across a door."

As the tabloids remind, earlier Juan Carlos, a famous lover of downhill skiing and hunting, was injured several times both on the hunt and on the ski slopes. Twenty years ago, after playing sports, the king ran into the pool and crashed into a glass door, which shattered from the impact. The monarch received numerous cuts, injured his arm and was eventually hospitalized.

A spokesman for the royal house later told the press that an unfortunate incident occurred when the king tried to open the door on his own in one of the halls of the palace. Simultaneously with him - in the opposite direction - the royal guardsman opened the door, who struck His Majesty with the door.

It is clarified that after providing assistance, the royal physician, having carefully examined Juan Carlos, allowed him to participate in the previously planned activities. Indeed, in the evening of the same day, the monarch took part in the solemn ceremony of awarding the award for the protection of the environment. Although this time His Majesty chose to wear dark glasses.

Today, Juan Carlos is scheduled to attend the gold medal ceremony for the fine arts at the El Pardo Palace.
