There are "primordially male" professions - military men, loaders. Usually these are cases that are associated with hard physical work. And this is at least understandable. But this is why it is generally accepted that a programmer is always a bearded man with glasses and a stretched sweater - a big mystery.

In universities, in the faculties of programming or mathematics, there are always 100+ downtrodden boys and a few girls. Guys, of course, like this alignment. Most often, they are articulated elderly teachers who sometimes utter some kind of nonsense about a place in the kitchen, and then wonder how the girl passed his subject with a solid five, unlike the rest of the idiots. Attempts to convey that gender, in general, has nothing to do with the ability to learn and work, fail miserably.

Tatiana Ten, front-end developer: “Some teachers believed that girls come to the" male "faculties for suitors, and not for knowledge. But after excellent marks in all specialized subjects, all questions somehow disappeared."

Fortunately, now this myth is slowly fading away - women willingly become programmers, coders and layout designers. They make great websites, write apps, build services.

In the "get-together" one mention of a stereotype causes laughter - they are sure that no one already thinks so, because the main thing is a person's personal qualities, and not gender, race or some other stupid sign.

In fact, everything is not so rosy yet - there are still a lot of people who do not look at professionalism in the first place. How to deal with this? First of all, raise the problem and discuss it. "Netology" spoke with several women who work in IT, and found out what they think about the stereotype and whether it is necessary to fight it.

Alena Batitskaya, front-end developer: “Be honest with public opinion and do what you get high from. If you love your job, then it will not matter to you what others think."
