Sometimes you cannot envy the fate of fashionable girls. The trendsetters often go to such extremes that not only the wallet suffers, but also the health. Defiling in "labutins" on 12-centimeter stiletto heels, we know perfectly well that we should not get carried away. However, even being in ballet shoes, you should not relax. According to orthopedists, the love of flat-soled models can play a cruel joke.

Orthopedists are sounding the alarm: there has been a sharp increase in the number of injuries in people who prefer to wear flat shoes. “Over the past three years, a huge number of women have managed to complain to me about pain in my legs. Last week alone, I had three of these patients,”says Mike O'Neill, an orthopedic surgeon.

According to the doctor, at the end of the summer, the situation becomes especially tense. “During the heat, girls take out their favorite slippers from the dressers or buy fashionable gladiator sandals. Thus, they have problems with the spine,”the doctor complains.

The ideal heel height, according to the orthopedist, should be about 2.5 centimeters

How does a flat sole ruin our health? Firstly, people do not notice that while walking in such shoes they begin to shuffle their feet. The flat soles force the feet to move inside the sandal, stretching the ligaments and tendons. These seemingly invisible displacements can ultimately cause severe pain in the fingers, especially the thumb.

In addition, when the feet feel uncomfortable, the knees "pour in" behind them. “People who play sports usually hurt their knees,” sighs Mike O'Neill. “But in this case, the victims are 20-year-old young girls. I have only one piece of advice for such cases: do not wear flat shoes all the time. But don't overuse high heels either. Do not blindly follow fashion on a leash - health is more expensive"
