Many Hollywood divas try to prove by their own example that you can look glamorous not only in stiletto heels. But it is difficult to change the female mentality and we still have to suffer and walk in high heels in order to look "at the level".

However, the inventors are not asleep and have already practically solved the problem. British doctor David Handel came up with the idea of creating a transforming heel 20 years ago in New York while he was driving a taxi down Fifth Avenue. His sister, Lauren Handel, helped the inventor realize the idea. The result was the Camileon Heel footwear brand, under which there are nine models with transforming heels. These shoes are already on sale in the US and UK for around £ 150 ($ 300) a pair.

According to the newspaper The Daily Mail, a comfortable 2.5-centimeter heel of such shoes can be turned into an elegant 8-centimeter stiletto heel with one light movement of the hand. This is possible thanks to the steel bar inside the heel, which can be folded easily by hand. At the same time, a special locking mechanism does not allow the heel to fold down when walking.

“The adage that need was the mother of invention fully reflects our case,” says Lauren Handel. “For the first time, we can combine the latest fashion trends and comfort in one pair of shoes. We would like to give more freedom of choice for women. who for one reason or another have to wear high heels every day. Shoes with adjustable heels will reduce stress on their feet and will be more comfortable."

According to the developers, the height-adjustable heel will help women with active lifestyles feel comfortable during the working day, but at the same time look elegant when needed.

As noted by The Daily Mail, a recent opinion poll showed that the majority of British women are willing to endure the pain of high-heeled shoes. At the same time, 45 percent of the respondents admitted that they fell or got a dislocated leg because of the hairpins.
