But Ibrahim did not want to listen. And when at last the moment of truth came, and Ibrahim, as Allah had told him, thrust a knife into his son, he saw that instead of him there was a slaughtered ram. It turned out that Allah was only testing his creation for strength. When he saw that Ibrahim was ready at his command to go to the end, he stopped this act and gave his second son, Isaac, leaving the first alive.

The bold act of Ibrahim is still worshiped by Muslim believers and bring a sacrifice (of a ram) in his memory every year. Thus, they show that just as Ibrahim was faithful to Allah in his time, so they are faithful to him to this day. They show pity for unfortunate creatures and are worthy of the mercy of Allah.

Features of the holiday Eid al-Adha

One of the most important parts of the holiday is sacrifice. Immediately after the prayer, Muslims go to slaughter a ram (it is also allowed to slaughter a goat, camel, buffalo, cow). When carrying out the ceremony, several strict rules must be observed.
