Doctors have tried to debunk the most common myth of celebrity culture. Experts insist: you shouldn't be guided by numerous stars when it comes to health. The fact is that shiny hair, a fresh complexion and a toned figure are by no means evidence that everything is normal in the body.

Nuffield Health, a medical and sports network, conducted a study to find out how people perceive health by their appearance. Within its framework, more than 2,500 women and men were shown photographs of two people and asked which of them, according to the participants, was healthier.

In one photo was a tanned, slender blonde, and in the second - a completely ordinary man. In addition to the fact that he looked clearly heavier and paler than a woman, he was also wearing slightly sloppy clothes. Almost 2/3 of the respondents (this is 62%) chose a woman as healthier.

Then the woman and the man, shown in the photo, were subjected to testing, which includes checking the level of glucose and sugar, blood pressure, the presence or absence of bad habits, writes NEWSru.com with reference to The Daily Mail. It turned out that the man was actually healthier.

At the same time, 6 out of 10 respondents said that a fresh complexion and healthy hair were the main signs of health, for which they chose a woman.

However, it is no secret that there are a lot of tricks with which you can mask skin imperfections, and the "mouse" tail can be turned into a luxurious mane. Experts warn: underneath this shell can hide the hard-hitting truth: high blood pressure, bad habits like smoking and high cholesterol. In turn, the photographs did not show any external signs of dangerous diseases, because they are usually asymptomatic until it is too late.
