After forty years on stage as a rock musician, pop ballad and soundtrack performer Sir Elton John became interested in a completely different genre of music - hip-hop.

The 59-year-old musician decided to record a hip-hop album. The project will be co-written and co-produced by renowned performer Dr Dre. "I want to work with Eminem, Timbaland and Snoop Dogg," said Elton John. Elton John has already tried his hand at a new direction for him. In 2001, during the Grammy Awards, he sang the song "Stan" with Eminem. But now Elton John intends to release a full-length hip-hop album. "It can be a disaster, or it can get fantastic success. Until you try, you don't know," the musician added.

Meanwhile, on September 19, Elton John's new studio album "The Captain and the Kid" is released, which became a kind of continuation of the album "Captain Fantastic and the Dirt Brown Cowboy", released back in 1975. The first single of the album will be "The Bridge". The British musician will present his new songs "live" on September 6 in New York at a concert in Rose Hall.
