Today, April 7, the winners of the Nika national cinematic award will be announced at the Moscow State Operetta Theater. However, the name of one of the laureates is already known. A special award for honor and dignity will be presented to the actor and director Sergei Yursky.

As RIA Novosti reminds, last year Lyudmila Gurchenko received the statuette in the nomination “For Honor and Dignity”, nine days after her death it will be today. Russian film academics are planning to honor the memory of the People's Artist during the ceremony.

The favorite in terms of the number of nominations was the film "Edge" by Alexey Uchitel - 9 nominations. It is followed by (8 nominations) the patriotic work of Alexander Kott "Brest Fortress", which caused mixed reviews. In addition, Alexey Fedorchenko's Oatmeal, How I Spent This Summer by Alexey Popogrebsky, and Fireman by Alexey Balabanov are contenders for the title of the best film.

The prize with the wording "For his contribution to the cinematographic sciences, criticism and education" has already been received by the film expert Armen Medvedev, who heads the Rolan Bykov Foundation.

A slight revival, observers note, is brought about by the presence of the film Burnt by the Sun - 2: Anticipation among the nominees for the "anti-Mikhalkov" award. Evgeny Mironov was nominated for Best Supporting Actor, and Eduard Artemiev was nominated for Best Music.

Aleksey Balabanov, Aleksandr Kott, Aleksey Popogrebsky and Aleksey Uchitel apply for the title of the best director.

The Best Non-Fiction Film nomination includes Alexander Stolyarov's Herman and Karmalita, Andrey Gryazev's Miner's Day, and Tofik Shakhverdiev's My Friend Doctor Liza.

In the nomination "Best Cinematography" rivals were Yuriy Klimenko ("The Edge"), Pavel Kostomarov ("How I Spent This Summer") and Mikhail Krichman ("Ovsyanki"). Both Kostomarov and Krichman have already received awards in Berlin and Venice, respectively.
