Legendary director Woody Allen is far from consistent. More recently, he called Scarlett Johansson and Frida Pinto his muses. And now the filmmaker has his eye on the first lady of France. Earlier this year, Allen invited Carla Bruni to star in his new film. And as it became known now, the former model agreed.

Mrs. Bruni-Sarkozy will take part in Allen's film, which will begin filming next year. The American director has repeatedly praised Carla. After visiting the capital of France in June this year and meeting with the president and his wife at the Elysee Palace, he announced that he wanted to see Bruni in his films.

“I'm sure she will be great. She has charisma, besides, she has already played - the audience knows her. She has a whole set of qualities that can be used, although I have not yet come up with a role for her, - Allen admitted in an interview with RTL. "I assure you that this will not pose a problem for either President Sarkozy or the image of France."

French music critic Gerard Delapon has already quipped on this: "If she becomes the star of a film, I hope her acting will be better than singing."

As reported by the Spanish newspaper El Mundo with reference to the message of Mediapro, Bruni has given her consent to participate in the "Paris" tape. Representatives of the film company said that the filming of the joint work of Bruni and Allen is scheduled for the summer of 2010. As usual for the creator of Match Point, the plot and title of the painting are kept a closely guarded secret. But if you believe Allen, then, most likely, it will be a comedy tape.

As you know, at present, Bruni can be called a fairly successful singer. Her last year's album Comme si de rien n'etait reached number three in the French charts a week after its release. However, her acting experience is limited - in 1994 she starred in the film by Robert Altman "Pret-a-porter", and in the role of herself.
