Director Woody Allen is not often predictable. And now, to the disappointment of Carla Bruni's fans, the filmmaker has abandoned plans to shoot the first lady of France in his new film. According to Allen, Ms Bruni is too busy, which could jeopardize the normal course of the filming process.

Last year, Woody Allen offered Bruni the lead role in one of his films. After visiting the French capital in June and meeting with the president and his wife at the Elysee Palace, the director announced that he wanted to see Karla in his films.

“I'm sure she will be great. She has charisma, besides, she has already played - the audience knows her. She has a whole set of qualities that can be used, although I have not yet come up with a role for her, - Allen said about Karl Bruni in an interview last year with RTL. "I assure you that this will not pose a problem for either President Sarkozy or the image of France."

After a little thought, the first lady of France gave her consent. Recently, Karla has once again confirmed the information about the planned filming. True, she made a reservation that she did not yet know what role she was assigned to, and had not read the script.

However, Allen himself recently said that the wife of the French president is not the woman who earns her living as an acting profession. According to the famous director, the first lady of France has many things to do and commitments that can put the filming process.

It is assumed that instead of Bruni in the new film, whose name is kept in strict confidence, Oscar-winning Frenchwoman Marion Cotillard, who played the role of the legendary singer Edith Piaf in the film Life in Pink, will take over. Production on the film is slated to begin this summer in France, following the release of Allen's latest film, You Will Meet a Tall, Unfamiliar Brunette.
