For the first time, women won more gold medals for Russia at the Olympics than men.

The 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro ended on Sunday. Athletes from 206 countries of the world took part in them. Russia finished fourth overall with 56 medals. At the summer games, this is the lowest result for all 20 years of participation for Russian athletes, largely due to the massive denial of our athletes due to the doping scandal.

Russian Olympians will bring home 19 gold medals. Of these, 10 belong to women athletes. For the entire 20-year history of Russia's participation in the Olympic Games, for the first time, women have won more medals than men!
