One of the most famous drawings of Kate Winslet is up for auction. This is a sketch made by director James Cameron during the filming of the 1997 film Titanic. The starting price of the lot is 16 thousand dollars.

In the drawing, Winslet appears naked in the form of Rose Bukater. Around the girl's neck is a diamond necklace "Heart of the Ocean". According to the plot, the author of the drawing is the hero of Leonardo DiCaprio Jack Dawson.

However, before the start of the auction, the organizers expressed the hope that the drawing will be bought for a larger sum, since, according to one of the representatives of the auction house, "this is a wonderful piece of memory of one of the highest-grossing films of all time."

We remind you that the premiere of "Titanic" took place in 1997. The tape's budget was $ 200 million. A completely new studio was built for the filming on the Rosarito coast of Mexico, and a near-life-size model of the ship was built in the waters of a huge pool.

Initially, representatives of Paramount Pictures, having familiarized themselves with the picture of James Cameron, drew attention to the too long duration of the film (over 3 hours) and the incredible costs of filming. They had doubts about Cameron's directing ability. James Cameron defended his picture and warned everyone that he was not going to shorten the length of the film. Although there were times when he doubted that the rental of "Titanic" would be successful.

As a result, the tape set a record as the most profitable film in the history of cinema, grossing over $ 1.8 billion at the box office worldwide. The picture held the title of the highest grossing for 12 years, until this record was surpassed by Cameron's Avatar the year before last.
