The most expensive gems rarely end up at auctions. Therefore, the Christie's auction will become a real event: their organizers advise not to miss this unique opportunity to take part in the battle for a beautiful pink diamond. Of course, if you have several million dollars.

The rare five-carat stone will be auctioned at Christie's in Hong Kong. It was mined in South Africa and placed in a ring by jewelers.

It is expected that the price for the stone will rise to the world record level of five to seven million dollars and approach the unattainable height until now - a pink diamond of 19.66 carats, sold at Christie's in Geneva in 1994 for 7 million 400 thousand dollars.

The luxurious stone of the next auction is four times smaller than the previous record holder and has some flaws. New owners do not need to worry: all inaccuracies can be eliminated with a slight additional polishing.

However, according to experts, despite the shortcomings, the lot is considered almost flawless and one of the best colored gemstones in recent years.

According to representatives of the auction house, the main hope is pinned on Asian collectors of jewelry rarities, ready to spend the largest amount.

“This pure pink gem of five carats is the best in all criteria,” said François Curiel, head of international jewelery at Christie's.

Christie's is famous for its price records, especially at auctions in Asia. As told by the spokesman for the Asian auction house Kate Malin, collectors in Hong Kong are among the main buyers.
