Are you counting the days until the start of the 2012 apocalypse? Come on, nothing terrible will happen, says German expert in the field of hieroglyphics Sven Gronemeyer. The notorious Mayan calendar is misinterpreted. According to him, the message of the Indians, recently discovered in the Mexican temple of Comalcalco, carries a different meaning.

Let us recall that the prophecy says that with the end of the 13th baktun, a period of 400 years, the god Bolon Yokte will descend from heaven. This event will take place just on December 21 next year. In this regard, for three years now, humanity has been wondering whether to be the end of the world or the Maya were mistaken.

Meanwhile, scientists from the National Institute of Mexico gathered in the Mexican city of Palenque a conference with the participation of 64 Mayan culture experts from 12 countries around the world about the "coming apocalypse." Sven Gronemeyer, who had studied writing for a long time in the Comalcalco temple, where the Indians performed their ritual services, acted as a speaker.

According to the expert, the artifact that caused so much noise is a stone slab about 1300 years old. It contains the Mayan cyclical calendar, consisting of 13 sequentially replacing time periods (baktuns), each of which lasts 394 years. The last, 13th baktun ends on December 21, 2012, but this date does not mean the end of the world, but the coming of the ancient god of war and fertility Bolon Yokte.

Currently, a stone slab from the Temple of Comalcalco is in the laboratory of the National Institute of Mexico. As soon as researchers finish studying it, the historical monument will most likely be exhibited in one of the country's museums.

Moreover, the visit of Bolon Yokte does not at all promise cataclysms. The concept of "apocalypse" was generally absent in the Mayan culture, writes Ytro.ru. In the ancient scriptures, there are no predictions about catastrophes associated with the end of the historical era.

According to the scientist, Yokte symbolized changes, so his arrival on Earth would mark the beginning of a new era. This date was anticipated with great impatience and a magnificent celebration was planned.

“This date was symbolic, no doubt. It marked the day of creation, when Bolon Yokte will create a new era of civilization, which will last for the next 5125 years until a new change,”the researcher explained.
