Variety announced the signing of an agreement between Miramax Films and Warner Bros, and the "independent" company Initial Entertainment Group as the production unit. By agreement, both distributors will cover 40 percent of the project cost. Thus, the question of financing, which had been in the air for almost a year, was resolved in the most favorable way.
