The organizers of the Oscars this year have decided to change the procedure for awarding the winners. This was announced at the gathering of all 115 nominees - they posed for a general photo.

This time, some laureates will not go on stage at all, while in other categories all five applicants will appear in front of the audience, and only after that the winner will be named. The ceremony will also feature a third traditional option, where the winner leaves for the award after the announcement of his name.

According to the producer of the ceremony, Jill Cates, the new system will allow more applicants to appear in front of television cameras. In addition, the organizers urged the winners to try to make their thanksgiving speeches shorter, according to the BBC.

The Academy also introduced new rules last year, including a ban on Oscar-nominating studios from criticizing competitors. The new rule prohibited inappropriate links to other paintings or people competing in a given category on websites, in mailing lists, and in other forms of information campaigns.

The introduction of this ban was a response to the incident of the 2003 season with DreamWorks, which tried to pressure the jury members through the media. DreamWorks has published articles lauding Shore Aghdashlu as the only worthy Best Supporting Actor Oscar nominee for House of Sand and Fog. The articles stated that Aghdashlu deserves the award more than anyone else, while Renee Zellweger (Cold Mountain film) is most likely to receive the award. The studio later apologized and even posted congratulations to Zellweger when she did win an Oscar.

Another new rule was for jurors living outside of Los Angeles and New York who complained of problems viewing all of the films that were eligible for the award. Now the Academy is sending them separate pieces from the applicant's paintings.

By the way, this year in the main categories such titans as "Aviator" by Martin Scorsese, illustrating the fight against planes and women of the eccentric American billionaire Howard Hughes, "Fairyland" by Mark Foster, which tells about the seducer of widows and part-time creator of "Peter Foam "James Barry," Ray "Taylor Hackford, telling about Ray Charles, the man who turned the musical world of the 20th century, finally," Hotel Rwanda "by Terry George, dedicated to Paul Rusesabajina, this humble hotel owner saved a huge number of people from certain death …

Of the other nominations, it should be noted, perhaps, only "Best Animated Film", where "Shrek 2", "The Incredibles" and "Submarine Brothers" are competing for Oscars, and "Best Music", where the title themes from the films "Fairy Land" compete. "Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban", "Lemony Snicket. 33 Misfortunes", "The Forest of Mystery" and "The Passion of the Christ". In the first category, the green troll and the superhero family have approximately equal opportunities, the latter's chances are preferable because of their novelty. In the music nomination, the forces are so equal that one should expect both the victory of "Harry Potter" and "The Passion".
