Martin Scorsese, recently completed biopic"

It was about this film that all the newspapers wrote: "Fans of primitive action can relax: this is a real psychological thriller with a gripping plot, capable of keeping in suspense all 97 minutes of the film" (Lycos Review).

According to the Hong Kong press, the producers of the Castled Double Remake decided to consult with Andrew Lau and Alan Mack, the directors of the original trilogy, before filming began. Andrew Lau, currently in the US, told "The Sun" that Brad Pitt will play the role of a gang member infiltrated by the police (originally Andy Lau), and Leonardo DiCaprio will play an undercover police agent working among criminals (Tony Leung Chiu Wai - in the original film).

Screenwriter William Monahan has already completed a draft script that will be sent to Alan Mack in Hong Kong. The plot of the remake will unfold in Boston, in the center of events will be the confrontation between the police and the Irish criminal group. This suggests that the film will show far from modern events. It is also unknown on what part of the original the remake will be based, only on the first or will it cover all parts of the trilogy?

In the center of the plot is the story of a police officer trying to bring his colleague, who works for a drug lord, to the surface. He, in turn, is trying to find a traitor in his environment, reporting him to the police.

Brad Pitt, Jennifer Aniston, Brad Gray's Plan B company and Columbia Pictures showed interest in creating the remake back in December 2002, when the first Castling Double came out in Hong Kong. Columbia later bought the remake rights for $ 1.75 million.
