Pregnant women who like to talk on a cell phone are more likely to have problem children. These results were obtained by researchers from the University of Aarhus (Denmark) and the University of California (USA). Doctors equated a mobile phone with such factors as smoking, alcohol, depression and food allergies that are dangerous to the health of a pregnant woman and her fetus, reports The Daily Mail.

More than 13 thousand women took part in the study. It turned out that among those who used mobile communications during pregnancy, the risk of having a child with emotional disabilities increases by 54%. According to scientists, it is enough to use a cell phone twice a day to significantly increase the risk of having a hyperactive baby.

However, not all scientists agree with the conclusions of their Danish colleagues. For example, American professor Lika Kheifits is confident that the link between mobile phones and health risks has not been proven. According to her, problems in the behavior of children can only be indirectly associated with telephones, when the mother, instead of paying due attention to her child, communicates on her mobile phone.

The risk of emotional problems increased by 25%, the likelihood of problems with friends - by 34%, the likelihood of hyperactivity - by 35%, and a tendency to other behavioral problems - by another 49%. And if then these children themselves began to use a mobile phone from an early age, then the overall risk of behavior problems increased by 80%.

Doctors believe that radiation is transmitted to the fetus by the mother through the placenta with the help of hormones. And although the manufacturers of mobile phones also convincingly prove the harmlessness of their products, doctors warn that it is not worth checking which of the researchers of the rights on their own experience - it would be much more correct to limit the use of a cell phone during pregnancy and not rush to hand the device to the baby.
