Remember, even in early childhood, your parents forbade you to do something, and you seemed to do the opposite in spite of it. Love at work is something similar. Everyone says "it's better not to do this," and everyone does it, step on the same rake, make the same mistakes. Whatever you name it, the reasons are the same: just the way circumstances develop, it just happens that way, instincts sometimes take over, etc.

A lot of works by psychologists and sociologists have been written about office novels. Many films have been shot about them, remember at least our beloved "Office Romance", and in almost all modern American films there is a love relationship between a boss and a subordinate. This phenomenon no longer seems so terrible as in the days of our grandmothers and great-grandmothers, when there was "no sex" in Russia.

The relationship between a boss and a subordinate or co-worker is what we call an office romance. In Russia, however, they often build a successful career and find a high-paying job.

Office romance occurs by mutual consent of two people. It can flare up in different situations.

My friend Zhenya started an affair with her immediate boss. "Our romance began at a corporate party dedicated to the New Year's celebration. We have a very friendly team in our office and, accordingly, the atmosphere that prevailed at the holiday by itself cast a romantic mood, especially after a few glasses of champagne. My boss Vladimir is a prominent handsome man. But since we have always encountered him only on work issues, there were no hints of a closer relationship even in our thoughts. The romance lasted about two months. At first we carefully concealed that there was something between us. To be more precise, we tried to hide it. It did not work. After 2 weeks of our relationship, almost everyone in the office was aware of it. This led to extremely unpleasant My colleagues began to look askance at me, whisper behind my back, etc. It was on everyone's lips that in this way I decided to "deserve" a promotion. do not go into details, our romance is over. I was transferred to another department and to another floor of our office center. Vladimir was asked, or rather, strongly recommended that he never again have close relationships with his colleagues."

Modern companies often create conditions for the emergence of romance among their own employees. They are very fond of maintaining a corporate spirit. For this, numerous holidays are arranged, trips to restaurants, trips to seminars, trainings and joint recreation outside the city. Activities like these help to bring co-workers closer together sexually. During the day, everyone works diligently, talking only about company affairs, and in the evening they change into more informal clothes, relax and have office romances.

The two phases, rapprochement and separation, that the participants in any novel experience, are much more emotional in these situations.

My friend Misha recently had such a story. He immediately noticed a new employee who came to them after graduation in the marketing department. Alina - the owner of large blue eyes and curly hair, always stylishly dressed - stood out very much against the background of other women from the office. The envious glances of colleagues at slender legs and smooth skin did not touch and worried Alina too much. She really wanted to gain experience, learn how to work and become a real specialist in her chosen professional field. The girl knew about office romances, all her older friends and comrades always warned her against courting male colleagues. But she could not refuse beautiful words, frequent flowers and Mikhail's surprises. They became close. But when Alina found out that Mikhail had already had several similar ties with former employees of the same company before their romance, she was wary. It turned out that she came across the type of man who almost never lets any pretty girl pass by, especially if they work together. Frequent quarrels began to occur between Alina and Mikhail, and, as a temperamental girl, she did not stand on ceremony. Quarrels took place in front of the entire office, beating vases and throwing all kinds of stationery at each other. The parting was unpleasant. Alina quit without gaining the desired experience. The company's management, seeing all the love stories that, oddly enough, almost always around Mikhail, did not and does not take any measures. There were no lectures, no prohibitions on office romances. He still works for the same company to this day. It's just that the bosses think that a specialist in love is better than none.

Surely you have often heard the phrase from men: "Do not sleep where you work!" Of course, this is a bit harsh, but the essence and meaning of this does not change. Rarely, when office romances lead to something good, they do not increase efficiency, sales do not increase, and the company does not flourish.

Of course, the option of dating and looking for a husband among colleagues is much easier than the usual one. There are several advantages to romance at work:

- you don't have to look closely at the candidate for a long time, you know his positive and negative character traits, you know him at work. He almost always looks perfect, is clean-shaven and smells good;

- it is easy to watch him here and always stay alert, especially if a rival appears somewhere on the horizon;

- one of the main advantages of romance at work is that you don't have to spend weeks getting to know each other better;

- there is always a topic for conversation, since you have a lot of points of contact;

- you see him often.

However, there are also many disadvantages:

- novels at work interfere with work;

- you will not be able to dine in a men's company, since your beloved is always there;

- all colleagues are whispering behind your back, discussing - this is extremely unpleasant;

- any quarrel or misunderstanding of yours immediately becomes known to almost all people with whom you work - your personal life is always in sight;

- if unsuccessful, your breakup can greatly affect your career and reputation.

These lists go on and on. Unfortunately, as practice and statistics show, most often office romances are not long-term phenomena and lead to painful breakups. Although, of course, there are exceptions to the rule. Therefore, I will not advise you whether to start romances at work or not. Each of us must decide for herself what and with whom she wants. Moreover, in this situation, as a rule, your personal life lies on one side of the scales, and on the other - your career and professional reputation. Agree, the choice is not easy. By the way, if you had to choose, what would you choose?
