Discussions about the dangers of cellular communications have been fiercely waged by pundits for several years. But who today can imagine a normal life without a mobile phone? And nevertheless, experts recommend not to try to be in touch all the time, since the safety of cell phones has not been confirmed in the long term.

Israeli scientists from the Institute of Technology (Technion), led by Professor Levi Schechter, concluded that radiation from mobile phones can damage eyesight.

Researchers have experimentally found that radiation from a cell phone can cause irreversible changes in the eyes. The experimental animals were calves, which were irradiated for 12 days, alternating 50-minute exposure sessions with 10-minute pauses. As a result, lesions appeared in the eye lenses, affecting the optical qualities of the eye.

However, this is still a trifle. Usually, users of cellular communications are afraid of brain cancer, the Pravda newspaper notes. Nevertheless, Professor Anthony Swerdlow and his colleagues from the British Institute for Cancer Research have found that in more than 10 years of the existence of cellular communication, the number of people with brain tumors has not increased.

“The results of our research show that there is no significant risk during the first decade of use, but whether there are long-term risks is still unknown, since cellular communication has appeared relatively recently,” the scientist said.

The results of exposure to radiation can only appear if it is long-term, experts say. Meanwhile, in almost all series of experiments confirming the harm of mobile phones, objects received huge doses of microwave radiation.
