Scientists strongly recommend keeping mobile phones away from bed before going to bed. Otherwise, there will be a lot of problems like headaches, confusion and even depression.

The work was published by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology Symposium on the Advancement of Electromagnetic Research and funded by the Mobile Manufacturers Forum, representing major mobile phone manufacturers. The results of this study are seriously concerned about leading experts in sleep medicine, one of whom said that there is now "more than convincing evidence" that radiation "negatively affects deep sleep."

Radiation emitted from cell phones interferes with sleep and shortens sleep time, as well as headaches and confusion, according to a new study. Scientific work sponsored by mobile phone manufacturers themselves shows that using their products before going to bed lengthens the transition to deep sleep and shortens the duration of these phases, which, in turn, prevents the body from replenishing the daytime losses.

This discovery looks especially alarming in relation to children and adolescents who especially need sleep, but at the same time, most of them, according to polls, use their phones late at night. Lack of sleep can lead to mood swings, personality changes, symptoms of attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, depression, distraction, and poor academic performance.

This study is believed to be the most comprehensive of its kind. It was conducted by scientists from the reputable Karolinska Institute (Sweden), Uppsala University (Sweden) and Wayne State University (Michigan, USA).
