The media reported the illness a week ago due to the fact that Menshov was absent from the congress of the party of which he was a member. It was known that the director had a mild coronavirus, so he refrained from hospitalization. The fact that the artist's health had deteriorated was not reported in the press.

Menshov's wife, Vera Alentova, has the same diagnosis as her husband. The artist is being treated in one of the capital's hospitals.
