The second wave of the pandemic and the growing number of infected people forced the authorities to extend the autumn holidays in educational institutions. In the current conditions, parents are interested in whether schools will be quarantined in 2020 due to the coronavirus.

How many schools were quarantined

According to data published by the Ministry of Education, today the number of schools quarantined was 28. This is a total of 0.07% of the total number of schools in the country. Will all schools be closed in the future?

The Ministry of Education has not yet introduced a total closure and has not announced that such restrictions may take place in the future. At the same time, the department instructed local governments to transfer schoolchildren to distance learning in order to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

But these prescriptions are of a recommendatory nature and are not yet mandatory. As of today, Russian schools throughout the country do not plan to close. At the same time, the authorities recommend leaving children at home whenever possible.

Education Minister Sergei Kravtsov has already stated that the primary task for the department is to protect the health of students, as well as all those involved in the field of education.

According to the official, today all the necessary tools have been implemented for schoolchildren to acquire knowledge remotely. In particular, the site "Russian Electronic School" helps with this, where more than 120 thousand assignments and video lessons developed by the best teachers in the country are posted. Anyone can do it.

Data have already been received from individual regions that have made a large-scale transition to such a training format, and this experience has been designated as positive. The rest of the regions can use it to reduce the number of infections.

The Minister of Education also indicated that the department is ready to provide comprehensive assistance to the regions that require methodological support. He also hastened to announce that all these are temporary measures and there is no need to worry about the decrease in the quality of education due to the restrictions imposed.

The work aimed at leveling the negative consequences for the education process, which may occur due to the transition from full-time to distance education, does not stop. Today, recommendations of Rospotrebnadzor have been sent to all regions, instructing the heads of schools, kindergartens, institutions of additional education to ensure compliance with sanitary and epidemiological requirements.

Regional leaders have a responsibility to do their utmost to ensure that disinfection measures are being followed. Where classes continue to be conducted as usual, the premises should be ventilated in a timely manner. Cleaning should also be done on schedule.

Interesting! Will there be distance learning in 2021

Is it safe to let children go to school

This question worries many parents. According to official figures, children are mostly sick either mildly or asymptomatic. But the danger lies in the fact that they can invisibly infect others and pose a threat to their own grandparents, as well as anyone over 60 years old.

According to official data, parents may not allow a child to go to school, even though there is no quarantine in the region of residence, but only if there are any characteristic symptoms, or with the wording “for family reasons”. In the second case, the duration of absence from school has a certain allowable period, which is specified on an individual basis with the school administration.

Interesting! Will Moscow be quarantined from coronavirus again?

For the period of absence from an educational institution, students continue to do their homework at home in order to keep up with the program. The fewer contacts, the lower the likelihood of picking up the virus and becoming a carrier. For this reason, individual schools in Russia have decided to quarantine.

The leaders of the regions are guided by the daily number of cases, the growth rate of new infected and the number of hospitalizations for a certain period. All this information comes from the operational headquarters of each constituent entity of the Russian Federation.

Outcomes

  1. Large-scale closure of schools is currently not expected, there are no corresponding official orders in this regard.
  2. At the same time, Rospotrebnadzor sent out recommendations to the regions for transferring schoolchildren to a remote mode in connection with the danger of the spread of coronavirus.
  3. To date, 28 Russian schools have switched to distance learning. The final decision on the introduction of such a regime rests with the heads of the regions.
