Assumptions of some sources that kindergartens and schools will be closed permanently in 2020 can be considered a provocation.

Usually, all sorts of rumors about quarantine measures arise in parental chats. But they often have no real basis. The ministry strongly advises parents to look only at official sources and not believe rumors.

In view of the fact that kindergartens are also part of the education system in Russia, there is a certain degree of probability that they may be closed, even if not in the coming months. But when making certain decisions, the authorities take into account the fact that most parents do not have the opportunity to stay at home with their babies. This will mean the need to take leave from work, which will lead to an additional decrease in family income.

At the same time, Rospotrebnadzor has already sent instructions to the regions to strengthen the epidemiological regime in kindergartens. In accordance with its requirements, children with characteristic signs of respiratory diseases should not be admitted to kindergarten. Such babies should be monitored at the place of residence by a local pediatrician.

They will be able to return to kindergarten in the previous regime only after their parents present a certificate of recovery. In all preschool educational institutions, scheduled wet cleaning and regular ventilation should be carried out.

In addition to the danger of the spread of coronavirus, kindergartens are often closed during a common flu epidemic. And if the level of attendance in the institution decreases by 20%, the manager can introduce quarantine in general or in individual groups.

The kindergarten can be closed if confirmed cases of illness among the pupils are established or if one of the employees is infected.

Individual cases are situations when one of the parents of the pupils fell ill with COVID-19, or the children came into contact with a kindergarten employee, who was subsequently diagnosed with it. In any case, the decision is always made on an individual basis.

The problem still lies in the fact that children often get ill in a latent form, while acting as carriers of the pathogen. Accordingly, they can easily infect any of the kindergarten employees, and unnoticed by others.

And yet, the Ministry of Health, as well as the Rospotrebnadzor, believe that kindergartens do not pose a particular threat to society during an epidemic.

At the same time, representatives of local authorities retain the authority to introduce any restrictive measures. Regional leaders, showing concern for the health of adults, have the right to make an independent decision to close the kindergarten.
