In what areas can maternity capital be spent

Funds to support families with children can be spent strictly on certain points:

• repayment of the mortgage;
• repayment of loans taken earlier;
• improvement of living conditions;
• parent and child education;
• mother's pension;
• purchase of goods and services.

If the family's income is below the subsistence level, mat. capital for the second child can be spent gradually until the age of three (in the form of a monthly allowance).

At the beginning of March 2021, the Government signed a Decree on a simplified procedure for issuing mat. capital to improve living conditions.

• monthly allowance for caring for a child up to one and a half years;
• childcare allowance up to three years old.

How to arrange the payment of maternity capital for the second child in 2021-2022

Since April 2020, a certificate for maternity capital is issued without an application. The document automatically appears in the personal account on the State Service portal after the birth of the child. The renewal of the certificate for maternity capital in 2022 will take place automatically.

But for payments you need supporting documents. For registration of the received amounts of federal maternity capital, the region of residence does not matter.

Since 2021, the procedure for obtaining maternity capital payments has been simplified. Contacting the Pension Fund or the State Service portal will not take much time. Most of the documents are reviewed electronically.
