In May 2020, the head of state announced additional measures to support families with children, which were introduced due to the pandemic, including the appointment of one-time payments for children under 16 years of age. Many parents have already used the help in the first months of summer, but the question remains whether such support in the amount of 10,000 rubles will be provided in August.

Will there be payments in August

During his next appeal to the citizens of Russia, the President proposed to extend payments for children aged 3 to 16 for another month. Thus, families were able to use state aid twice (in June, July).

Those who, for whatever reason, did not apply for a lump sum at the beginning of the summer, have the opportunity to do so now. In this case, the amount of payment will be 20 thousand rubles (for two months).

Applications for receiving funds are accepted until October 1 of the current year. You can apply for it through the State Services service.

Initially, economists and parents believed that the state could allocate a certain amount for the organization of August payments, which looks quite logical, since the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation decided to start the academic year according to the plan, that is, from September 1.

Additional support would be very useful and could be spent on preparing children for school: the purchase of stationery and school suits, which is especially important for families who do not have the right to receive compensation for their uniforms.

But this issue has not yet been resolved, therefore, it is not possible to predict whether payments of 10,000 rubles for children from 3 to 16 years old will be paid in August 2020. It all depends on the further development of the situation, both in the economic and in the epidemiological spheres.

If the situation deteriorates and the unemployment rate remains high, the head of state may decide to extend payments, but there is no official information on this. The parents, who formed an initiative group, created a petition to collect signatures to be handed over to members of the Cabinet of Ministers and the President of the Russian Federation in favor of providing financial assistance to children.

The letter also speaks of the difficult financial situation of many families before the start of the new school year. After all, not all parents who lost their jobs due to the crisis were able to find a job again.

How to apply for compensation

Families with children born in the period from May 11, 2004 to June 30, 2017 draw up a lump sum payment of 10,000 rubles through the public services portal. You can submit an electronic application until September 30 of the current year inclusive.

Compensation is due only to citizens of the Russian Federation permanently residing in the territory of Russia. If several minors of the indicated age are brought up in a family, indicate the data for each of them.

Funds allocated from the federal budget have no special purpose and can be spent by parents for any need. The amount received is not taken into account when calculating family income if other measures of state or regional support are provided.

In addition to personal information (passport data and birth certificates of children), the application contains the details of the bank account to which the payment will be made. These data can be viewed in the Internet Bank.

The account number must be 20 characters long. In addition, you will need to indicate the number of the correspondent account and BIC. When filling out the form, you must be extremely careful and enter only relevant information.

It should be noted that the account number does not match the card number and is not suitable for calculating compensation. You do not need to attach any other documents, as all information is checked automatically.

Compensation for 10,000 rubles is not paid if the application contains the account number of a third party. The law does not provide for the receipt of financial assistance through the Russian Post.

Compensation for teenagers aged 16-18

It must be said that the president's decision on repeated compensations in July 2020 provoked a new wave of discontent on the part of parents of adolescents aged 16-18: why does the state refuse to help children of a designated age, because most of them are still in school and are dependent on older family members …

But as reported by the media, citing competent sources, there will still be no payments for this category of citizens in August. The government of the Russian Federation motivates its refusal by the fact that 16-year-olds are considered capable and can work, and therefore earn.
