The latest news in Russia is devoted to the announced changes in government support measures to improve the demographic situation. In 2020, payments will be introduced for children from 3 to 7 years old to low-income families, one-time for all children aged 3 to 15 years.

New measures of state support

In 2020, during the period of the global coronavirus pandemic, in many countries of the world, including Russia, extraordinary measures were introduced to prevent further infection of the population. So many lives were saved, but ordinary citizens, due to the regime of forced self-isolation, found themselves in a difficult financial situation.

New measures of financial support have been developed for them, including payments to low-income families - people whose income for each family member was below the regional subsistence level, for each of the children aged 3 to 7 years.

The main topic of the expanded videoconference meeting was the phased relaxation of restrictive measures from 12 May. It will start in regions with a relatively favorable environment. In Moscow, due to the large number of people infected with coronavirus, quarantine has been extended until May 31.

On May 11, Russian President Vladimir Putin held a regular meeting via videoconference, which was broadcast by federal and regional TV channels. The topic of the appeal to a multimillion audience was the numerous changes that are being made to the measures of state support:

  • business (small and medium, self-employed citizens, officially registered);
  • low-income families with children aged 3 to 7;
  • those citizens who have a child from 3 to 15 years old, young parents receiving benefits;
  • social workers who had to carry an additional load during the period of high alert (they are assigned additional remuneration for three months of hard work);
  • doctors who work in a high-risk area (some of them have not received the due payments, although money from the federal budget has already been transferred to the regions).

On May 11, Vladimir Putin notified the Russians that the state considered the measures already taken to provide for families with children of different ages insufficient. For parents who are in a difficult situation due to the raging pandemic, the government is introducing new financial support measures in 2020.

Some of them are one-off, and payments for children to low-income citizens will continue after the quarantine is lifted.

The appeal to citizens invariably contained new information about unprecedented measures, changes that are being taken in the country so that the population could overcome the difficult period with the least losses.

The health of the nation, social support for the unprotected strata (primarily the elderly and families raising children) are priority tasks that the state should deal with during a pandemic. The latest news announced before the expanded meeting will help people to hold out until the crisis is over.

  • those whose income for each family member is below the regional subsistence minimum (low-income families with children aged 3 to 7), from June 1, will be charged half of the regional subsistence minimum. This amount will remain after the end of the restriction regime;
  • parents who lost their jobs during a pandemic will be paid 3 thousand rubles for each child of a certain age;
