British scientists have come to another curious conclusion. The researchers found that people who have sisters find it much easier to live than those who have only brothers. What exactly is the beneficial effect of girls on the family, scientists have not yet figured out, but they promise that they will seriously deal with this issue in the near future.

Scientists from De Montfort University and the University of Ulster studied 571 families. Among them were families in which only boys grew up, only girls, children of different genders, as well as families with an only child. From the point of view of the researchers, having a sister was beneficial for both boys and girls. As adults, they cope better with setbacks, their social life is richer, and they have more friends than peers who grew up without sisters.

In addition, the owners of the sisters performed better on standard tests that assess the level of mental health. It was also found that the level of stress after the parents' divorce is lower in those families with sisters. According to specialist Lisa Wright, scientists became interested in the question of the kinship influence of sisters after previous studies showed that girls with sisters were easier to cope with the difficulties that arise in life.

In general, children who grew up with their sisters turned out to be more optimistic, ambitious and adapted to life.

The mental health of children who have only brothers turned out to be weaker than those of those who grew up with sisters and those who were the only children in the family.
