25 interesting dresses from our designers
25 interesting dresses from our designers

There were two fashion weeks in the capital - Russian Fashion Week and Volvo Fashion Week. Russian designers (as well as designers from friendly countries - Ukraine and Belarus) presented their collections for the spring-summer 2011 season on the catwalks. We will discuss how our designers managed to “get” into global trends using the example of 25 dresses that most accurately reflect the style of the new collections. So…

Intellectual minimalism from Oleg Biryukov

Strict sophistication of the cut and calm monochrome are one of the main directions of the coming spring. But Biryukov did not follow trends, but rather his own style - creating a very simple but feminine dress.

Cut architecture by Dasha Gauser

Dasha also followed her own ideas about style - but nevertheless, succumbing to the general tendency to simplify the cut, she made her signature architectural designs lighter and cleaner and presented her collection at Russian Fashion Week.

Graphic prints from Yulia Nikolaeva

The contrast of black and white is another important trend for the next season. Yulia Nikolaeva also decided to do without bright colors, presenting silk dresses with original graphics to the public.

Color injection by Kirill Gasilin

But Kirill Gasilin decided to turn to the opposite trend - a bright, daring, “explosive” palette. Perhaps one of the best models in his collection was an asymmetrical coral dress with an impeccable cut.

Fabulous mood from Alena Akhmadullina

In the case of the collections of Alena Akhmadullina, there can be no talk of any trends. Alena always stubbornly oppresses her own line and offers dresses that will be appreciated for the originality and recognizability of the designer's handwriting, but not for the "fashion".

Airy simplicity from Lyudmila Norsoyan

Lyudmila's thin translucent dresses, made using a unique seamless technology, could easily appear in the collection of some European minimalist designer. Many global brands have demonstrated a desire for transparency this season - ours are also not lagging behind.

Subtle matters from Lena Vasilyeva

And here is another translucent dress, this time - created by the master of exquisite feminine outfits Lena Vasilyeva.

Hippie chic from Masha Tsigal

In this dress, a carefree summer mood seems to come to life - and it should be noted that both the maxi length and the intricate floral print were held in high esteem on the world catwalks showing the spring 2011 collections.

Country romance from Daria Razumikhina

The theme of carefree summer dresses is continued by the work of Daria Razumikhina - a short flying dress made of fabric with a floral pattern, decorated with contrasting braid.

Knitted sensuality from Max Chernitsov

Maxim dedicated his collection to the “children of flowers”, but he did it without direct references to the hippie style. Nevertheless, his dresses are imbued with the spirit of freedom and lightness.

Eastern Calm by Erica Zayonts

A silk robe of the maximum length, casually intercepted by a belt at the waist - something similar we could see in Donna Karan or Diane von Fürstenberg. However, unlike the latter, Zayonts' color policy is extremely restrained.

A drop of shine from Elena Suprun

Further - a few more dresses "to the floor". The maximum length proposed by designers last season will be relevant in the next season as well. So, Elena Suprun dresses a woman in a long silk dress with graceful decorative accents.

Monochrome painting by Lilia Pustovit

Ukrainian designer Lilia Pustovit skillfully played with the original print, reminding that symmetrical designs are especially popular now.

Delicate femininity from Olga Samoshchenko

Olga Samoshchenko also does not trust a bright palette, preferring to rely on cut rather than color. It turns out very gentle and very feminine.

A date with antiquity from Lena Tsokalenko

Olga Samoshchenko and Lena Tsokalenko are connected not only by their homeland - Belarus, but also by a certain commonality of views on female sensuality, embodied in plastic materials and in the dynamics of asymmetric cut.

A note of optimism from Shumilo and Elagina

Our designers are often accused of restraint and even the paucity of the color palette. That is why bright dresses on Russian catwalks immediately catch the eye. The colorful dress from Shumilo and Elagina is worth taking a closer look at, since it is these pure shades that set the tone for spring 2011.

"Ecological rainbow" by Alina Assi

Prints like these - reminiscent of circles of oil on water or streaks of cyclones on a weather map - came into fashion a couple of seasons ago, but remain popular with world designers. Our fashion designers also do not ignore this topic.

Flower paintings by Tatiana Parfyonova

And again - floral prints and translucent materials. And also - a very fashionable fluffy skirt, which is also worth paying attention to.

Stylish infantilism from Kira Plastinina

A nude shade, romantic ruffles and bows, a combination of girlish tenderness with elements of strict androgyny, and finally, a wide-brimmed hat. Before us is one of the most trendy images of the next season.

Symmetrical geometry from St. Bessarion

We again see a strict geometric pattern, this time not printed on the fabric, but formed by the details of the cut. The dress from Bessarion looks quite fresh - both in cut and in color.

Paper fragility from Masha Sharoeva

Masha Sharoeva showed one of the most unusual collections - the fact is that almost all the dresses were made … of paper. Nevertheless, this fragile dress can be a great source of inspiration: it is in such colors and textures that many designers see the future spring.

Rose petals from Svetlana Tegin

The floral theme is revived almost every summer season - and Svetlana Tegin managed to interpret it very beautifully, creating a scarlet dress, as if woven from rose petals.

Fire aesthetics by Andrey Ponomarev

And one more red dress - sophisticated and avant-garde. Perhaps some diva will like it - however, it can only be interpreted as a personal statement of the designer, but not as a fashionable phenomenon.

Chinese style by Vyacheslav Zaitsev

This season, the extensive collection of the master of domestic fashion included the Chinese block, which included silk shirts for men with a characteristic pattern, and elegant ladies' suits, dyed in the famous "Chinese red", and such an impressive cocktail dress with gold embroidery on black.

Russian souvenir from Valentin Yudashkin

Russian luxury can easily turn into kitsch - but in the design of this dress Valentin Yudashkin found the right balance between the first and the second. Particular attention should be paid to the volume: such exaggeratedly voluminous things have become the main hit of the past world shows.
