For the past ten years, the UK has firmly maintained the status of the country with the most avant-garde, unusual and innovative design. Some of the best designers are British. All the old fashion houses invite the British. Britons John Galliano, Alexander McQueen, Julien MacDonald, Vivienne Westwood shared their places on the fashionable Olympus today.

This season RFW is attended by six British designers who have established themselves as some of the best: Gharani Strok, Tata-Naka, Matthew Williamson, Antoni & Alison, Jenny Pacham, Sophia Kokosalaki.

Antoni & Alison is an English brand created by two designers Anthony Burakowski and Alison Roberts. Antoni & Alison's designs are widely regarded as extremely eccentric and witty. For example, every season the brand releases a ton of T-shirts and sweaters with slogans like I so happy today or I'm really, really pleased. This season the T-shirt with the All men are pigs inscription has already become a hit of sales. The brand's shows are as unusual as their clothes: they will dress up the model as an elephant, then they will put green Frankenstein masks on all the models, then they will pour coffee on their dresses, and the models will parade with empty coffee cups in their hands.

Jenny Packham (Jenny Pacham) is another graduate of London's St Martins College on RFW. Immediately after graduation, Jenny Packham became famous as a designer of completely exceptional evening and cocktail dresses. Jenny herself describes the concept of her own brand as follows: "I create evening wear for a stylish modern woman who lives in big cities around the world." Jenny Packham has been officially named "First Lady of Evening Wear" by Vogue.

In 1997 Matthew Williamson showed his debut Electric Angels collection at London Fashion Week. This famous show featured such stars as Kate Moss, Helena Christensen and Jade Jagger, which is not a bad thing for an aspiring fashion designer. This small show made Williamson's name famous in one day: all significant and not very fashionable publications took him to the front pages, as well as publications about him were simultaneously made by British, French, Italian and American Vogue. In early 2004, Matthew Williamson opened his first store on Brighton Street, London. By the middle of the year, it became clear that the store was doomed to success, and the company started thinking about opening a similar project in New York. And between these two ambitious projects, Matthew Wilmson comes to Moscow to participate in Russian Fashion Week.

Gharani Strok is a fashion brand founded in 1995 by graduates of the Art Institute of Surrey (London) Nargess Garani and Vanya Strok. After the first show, the brand was noted by both critics and buyers, and for nine years now it has been considered the favorite of the British market, as well as being one of the five best brands in the UK. Eclectically combining traditional fabrics and unusual prints, intuitively combining trends, the designers of Gharani Strok always create very trendy collections. Their clients include Madonna, Nicole Kidman, Kate Moss, Gwyneth Paltrow and Kylie Minogue. And the clothes of this brand are sold not only in the UK and the USA, but also in Central Asia and the Far East.

Sofia Kokosalaki is a Greek woman working in London, making uniforms for the opening and closing ceremonies of the last Olympic Games in Athens. However, this is far from her first significant project. Although, by Sophia's own admission, making these costumes turned out to be much more difficult than any collection. Sofia Kokosalaki very skillfully uses her Greek origin both for self-promotion and in her own collections: she takes all the best that the Greeks are famous for (draperies, weaving) and transforms it into modern and completely non-pretentious clothes. In 2003 she received the BRITISH STYLE AWARDS as"
