“Fashion is fickle, only style is eternal,” Madame Chanel used to say. And she offered the classics for all time in the form of a little black dress. However, today most fashionistas try not to follow the previously established rules, and in general, experiments with style are in great fashion nowadays. And yet there are things that simply cannot look stylish next to each other. For example, socks and sandals.

Socks and sandals have been recognized as the top stylish misunderstanding of all time. And this is not at all the opinion of reputable stylists and fashion designers, these are the results of a survey conducted by the British supermarket chain Debenhams.

The second place in the antitope was taken by men's boots on the platform, and the third - pants too low from the waist line. All in all, there are ten points in the ranking, so that velor tracksuits (so beloved by many Russian women) were in fourth place, followed by women's harem pants, short jackets and T-shirts in sixth position, then waist bags. 1980s tracksuits came in eighth, and baseball caps loved by rappers and teens came in ninth. And finally, the last on the list were voluminous hair ties.

In 2012, a similar survey was already conducted in the UK. At that time, however, it did not concern "all times", but the last 50 years. Then the most terrible tracksuit was named in the retro style.

Commenting on the results of the survey, Debenhams spokesman Ed Watson noted that, despite the fact that socks and sandals appeared on fashion catwalks not so long ago (this was demonstrated at the Burberry, Christian Dior, Louis Vuitton and Chanel shows), people have this combination I don't like it anyway. “They might look good in a fashion show, but not in real life,” he said.
