These names are known to everyone who is even slightly interested in photography. They can be called rock stars in the world of gloss. Their work is hard to miss: they constantly appear on the covers and spreads of fashion magazines.
Annie Leibovitz
She is a master of portraits, many of which have appeared on the front pages of Vanity Fair and Rolling Stone magazines.
Her portfolio includes many photo sessions with world famous celebrities: musicians, film actors, politicians.
One of her most famous photographs is a portrait of John Lennon and Yoko Ono.
David LaChapelle
LaChapelle began his career as a photographer in the 80s of the last century; he held exhibitions in New York. At the same time, his art was noted by the legendary Andy Warhol, after which David received an invitation to work as a staff photographer in Interview magazine.
Today, LaChapelle's works adorn the Italian and French covers of Vogue, his celebrity portraits are published by Vanity Fair, GQ, Rolling Stone, i-D. He has worked with Madonna and Bjork, Elizabeth Taylor and Pamela Anderson, David Beckham, Eminem and Paris Hilton.
Also known as the creator of music videos, received the MTV Award for Best Video of the Year.
Ellen von Unwerth
Before becoming a photographer, Ellen had worked as a model in various agencies for 10 years, so, being on the other side of the lens, she already knew what was of interest to fashion editors and advertising specialists.
Fame came to her after doing a very sexy ad with Claudia Schiffer for the brand Guess? Her work has been published in Vogue, Vanity Fair, Interview and others. She is the author of several books on the art of photography. Among the achievements is the main prize of the International Festival of Fashion Photography in 1991.
Mario Testino
His work is published by Vogue and Vanity Fair. The culmination of Mario's career is the fact that Princess Diana chose him as a photographer for her own photo shoot in Vanity Fair magazine in 1997. By the way, Testino is still regularly invited to film in the British royal house.
Mario was often photographed by Gisele Bündchen, and many believe that it was thanks to his photographs that she received the status of a supermodel.
Patrick Demarchelier
A nugget with no education, Patrick was obsessed with photography from an early age. His original work was first noticed in the French magazines Elle and Marie Claire.
Later he worked for Vogue and especially for a long time with Harper's Bazaar magazine: having visited the editorial office for the first time in September 1992, he fruitfully collaborated with the publication for 12 years.
Demarchelier has worked as a creative photographer for advertising campaigns for Louis Vuitton, Dior, Celine, Chanel, TAG Heuer, Yves Saint Laurent, Calvin Klein, Lacoste and Ralph Lauren.
Stephen Meisel
This American photographer is called "the godfather of fashion", he received recognition, working in the Italian and American magazines Vogue, and scandalous fame - thanks to the release of the collection of erotic fantasies Madonna SEX in 1992. It was Maisel who captured the singer's “fantasies”.
Terrence "Terry" Richardson
This photo artist shows celebrities in especially everyday situations, deliberately uses an amateur camera and photographs "on the run", refusing staged shots and retouching. Terry is trying to "freeze the moment", not embellish it.
His work explores human sexuality in many different ways, which is well illustrated in his books Kibosh and Terryworld.
