In the latest news, the topic of early termination of the academic year 2019/2020 in Russia is actively discussed. And the closer the final exams, the more worried parents and students.
Decision of the authorities
The Ministry of Education allowed junior and middle school students to complete the educational process without the last quarter on April 8, 2020. Relevant information about this was reported by "RIA Novosti".
Graduates will have to continue their distance preparation for graduation from secondary school until June 8. On this date, the Unified State Exam (USE) has been appointed in the following subjects:
- geography;
- literature;
- computer science;
- information and communication technologies.
After passing the exam, graduates will be admitted to the main exams in the following subjects:
- Russian language - June 11;
- mathematics of basic and specialized levels - June 15;
- history and physics - June 18;
- social studies and chemistry - June 22.
Verification of knowledge of foreign languages orally will take place on June 25, 26, 29.
Return to the educational process
Students are allowed to attend classes in those regions of Russia where the epidemiological situation has stabilized. Therefore, the academic year 2019/2020 will not end ahead of schedule for them. At the same time, representatives of Rospotrebnadzor will monitor compliance with the sanitary measures established in March.
The Ministry obliged the heads of educational institutions to provide schoolchildren with the following conditions:
- Divide classes into groups of 10 people or less in order to prevent coronavirus infection.
- Adjust training programs.
- Minimize the time students spend indoors.
- Emphasize new topics in assignments.
If the situation with COVID-19 in the region remains tense, distance learning should be carried out as before.
At the same time, in remote settlements and villages that are unable to provide such a learning process, teachers and students are allowed partial communication when transferring new materials and homework. The main requirement is compliance with the recommended distance of 1.5 m between the participants in the process and the mask regime.
Viktor Basyuk, Deputy Minister of Education, explained the department's position in an interview with Komsomolskaya Pravda. According to the official, Russia is a large state, the situation with coronavirus infection in different regions is radically different. Therefore, each school must independently determine its capabilities and coordinate them with higher organizations.
The deputy minister explained to reporters that if the work process is completed ahead of schedule, the teacher should put the final marks by summing up the results of the VLOOKUP and the current scores for the material passed. This is facilitated by the fact that the all-Russian test papers were issued back in March, their program covers only the information that has already been mastered by schoolchildren.
Who can study next
Separate recommendations of the Ministry of Education refer to boarding schools and medical institutions with a long-term treatment or rehabilitation regimen. For them, the situation is radically different, the early end of the academic year in Russia in 2020 does not concern them.
As stated in the message of the Deputy Minister, the latest news on changes in the calendar terms of study leave aside the following categories of schoolchildren:
- with disabilities living on a permanent basis in boarding schools;
- deprived of parental care and in orphanages;
- located in boarding houses and sanatoriums that are licensed to teach the school curriculum.
Since the beginning of April, the guys in these institutions have been in self-isolation, they have been completely protected from contact with the outside world. In those boarding schools where there is permission for parents to visit on weekends, for example, for children from remote corners of Russia, it was decided to introduce a remote system as early as April 6.
