According to the latest data, the average salary in the Russian Federation, starting from 2021, will be 42 550 rubles. For the calculation, the amount was taken before the deduction of personal income tax. In fact, this figure in the country is 37,018 rubles (42,550 - 13%).

The indicators of the average earnings of Russian citizens will still be quite modest, but despite this, compared to 2020, they increased by 11.2%. This is primarily due to an increase in the minimum wage.

According to Rosstat, employees have the highest incomes:

  • gas and oil industries;
  • air transport;
  • IT spheres;
  • transport sector;
  • accountants of large companies.

The lowest incomes are for employees of the manufacturing industry and the post office. Independent experts claim that in 2025 the majority of citizens of the Russian Federation will earn about 75,000 rubles.

The highest wages in the country, according to the latest statistics, are observed in two large Russian cities: Moscow and the northern capital, St. Petersburg.

Will the salary of public sector employees increase from 2021

Since January 1, 2021, the Government of the Russian Federation has doubled the wages of state employees - medical personnel, teachers, court workers and the military. According to the decision of the President of the Russian Federation, the increase in salaries for public sector employees was due to new reforms.

But in the Russian Federation in the past few years, there has been a tendency for salary payments to be delayed. First of all, this problem concerns employees of the educational sphere and law enforcement agencies.
