Suede or varnish?

Let's start with the choice of materials. Natural leather is always held in high esteem. But designers, keen on working with different types of textures, easily change traditional smooth leather for suede, which is more interesting in texture and play of color - which, however, has one significant drawback: it is more capricious to wear and does not tolerate autumn slush. However, suede is a very sensual material; stylistically, she dictates either feminine elegance or calm and soft casual.

But another actual material, on the contrary, has a somewhat aggressive character - we are talking about patent leather, which has become fashionable this season. Patent leather is offered in extremely strict, dark colors, among which the classic black remains the most popular.

Heel or wedge heel?

Gone are the days of incredibly high, dizzying heels, as well as heels that have extraordinary, fantasy shapes. Today everything is calm in the heel kingdom: medium and small heels are welcome, both wide stable and thin stilettos. The mood of the 1960s is in fashion, which means that you should pay attention to straight and wide heels that confidently support the leg.

Wedges are held in high esteem again. They are also extremely simple and artless: the only fantasy that designers allow themselves in this regard is to make the wedge heel different in color from the top of the shoe. But most often the wedge is covered with the main material, it has a traditional triangular shape and, in general, does not boggle the imagination. Although it is these ordinary shoes that are missing in our wardrobe most often, isn't it?..

Femininity or brutality?

The main news of the season is the confident return of the pointed capes. Not only pumps became sharp-toed, but also boots, ankle boots, and ankle boots. The style of these shoes is classic femininity in the spirit of the 1990s, slightly defiant, but at the same time quite elegant. As a rule, such shoes require from clothing the severity of silhouette lines and clarity of forms, but without the slightest touch of romanticism - otherwise there is a risk of looking vulgar.

The complete opposite is the androgynous, brutal style. Harsh combat boots and all kinds of "army" shoes came into fashion several seasons ago, but only now shoes of this style have acquired a special luxury and gloss - it is worth looking at at least the heavy black boots from the Chanel collection. Designers are allowed to wear brutal shoes with bohemian dresses and romantic long skirts - demonstrating their complex and ambiguous character.

Asceticism of color or constructivism?

The "new black" today is … black. After several seasons of complex, bright, colored and multi-colored shoes, asceticism came into fashion - and black shoes were no longer considered boring and outdated. At the same time, designers choose classic models - offering only high black boots, in most other cases the stinginess of black is complemented by a minimalist design: artists do not even try to surprise us with new forms.

But, of course, designers could not do without color solutions either. Fall collections feature shoe models that seem to be assembled from multi-colored constructor parts - a trend reminiscent of the constructivist art of the 1920s with its simple and pure colors and geometric shapes. But it is worth remembering that the more complex in shape and more colorful your "constructivist" shoes will be, the simpler your clothes should be - and it is better if they are solid.

- In the new season, there is a clearly visible male style - variations on the theme of classic men's shoes, but placed on a platform or on a high heel, often in an unusual color. Such a combination of masculine and feminine seems to me quite fresh and interesting. Another trend is color, or rather a bold combination of contrasting colors: green plus orange, red plus blue, olive plus purple. All this riot will look great along with the still popular thick tights that support the shoes in color. By the way, a little secret: tights, matched exactly to the tone of the shoes, visually lengthen the leg.
