Oh, you baffle me, so I love Fyodor Dostoevsky and Mikhail Bulgakov very much, and the aphorism … If only "Through hardships to the stars", but it's more likely just about me.

What would you never do in your life?

I would never have jumped with a parachute.

What a star I am! They don't even recognize me on the streets. And I have been connected with music since childhood, on the female side I have it, one might say, hereditary - after all, my mother and grandmother are choreographers. In general, if not for my mother, maybe all this did not exist. I remember in kindergarten, at some matinee I screamed a song about a grasshopper so that half of the people almost went deaf! And my mother looked at me attentively and said: "To the music school!"

That is, showed talent at an early age, so to speak?

Mom says that I showed it at birth (laughs). After all, I managed to be born on International Theater Day, so my creative career was almost a foregone conclusion. It's not that I strongly believe in all sorts of signs, black cats there, but there is something like that for sure. And then, what can we hide, it's nice when in childhood you are told that you are an unusual child. Everyone, probably, is pleased.

But if mom and grandmother are associated with dancing, it is logical to assume that you should have followed suit

And I followed. I have been dancing since childhood, but I did not succeed as a ballerina for a banal reason - I was overweight. And in parallel with the dances, I sang, and wherever possible, in school circles, in the choir - everywhere. I really liked it, and one fine day at a family council we decided that since I can do it with singing and music, then this should be done.

So you always listen to the advice of your loved ones? At your age, it usually happens the other way around, such bouts of independence …

Well, I don’t know, I always listen very carefully to people who are next to me, close people, my mother. In general, I have wonderful! She was a soloist of the "Beryozka" ensemble! You ask any person related to choreography what it means to get into this ensemble, especially in those years, and everyone will tell you: "Wow!" Moreover, I have no one of my close relatives except my mother.

And how did your mother react to such an early growing up of her daughter, after all, to enter such an educational institution as Gnesinka at the age of 14 is, to put it mildly, not quite usual

Yes, she reacted normally, I always consulted with her, if my mother saw that something was not working out for me or I wasn’t able to do something … But everything worked out well for me: I also had to go to school (I really had to finish it as an external student), and sing, and in Gnesinka. It all somehow by itself, I just liked it all, and, probably, that's why it worked out.

Wasn't it scary to go to the "Factory", after all, the youngest was there by age?

Little ones! I think for two reasons, firstly, I was ready for a lot, thanks to my mother, my vocal teacher warned me in every possible way that there was no honey, she knew the whole world of show business from the inside. So I knew what I was going for. And, secondly, I believed and continue to believe that our "Factory" was the calmest, not scandalous, and the guys are all good, the relations were even and friendly, and no one paid attention to my small age.

That is, the seamy side of our show business, all this dirt, the yellow press did not frighten? Honestly.

You know, everything that you say, of course, is, but I perceive it as a cost of the profession, well, there is no getting away from it! It's just that you yourself have to try to be above all this, it's hard, of course, there are so many temptations around, the "roof", of course, moves down, but if there are adequate people around you whom you love and respect, and who can reason with you, then everything will be fine. As for the yellow press … I was probably lucky - they didn't write anything nasty about me yet (laughs loudly), and they didn't ask any dirty questions.

Maybe this is still ahead, but I think that you just need to answer the questions directly and frankly, then the journalists will have no desire to distort the facts.

Well, that's not a very pleasant question then, for sure it has already been asked to you more than once. Why did you disappear for almost two years after winning the "Factory"? There are many rumors, sometimes the most incredible

Yes, everything is simple, I will repeat what I have already said, it is true, and I am not in the least ashamed of it.

I just didn't sign a contract with the producer, I didn't want to work on the terms that were offered to all manufacturers. Just don't think that, they say, Gagarina got drunk, she demanded something special, everyone signed, but she didn't.

You should have seen those conditions! Continuous tour, "sanchez", as it is called, practically without rest and practically free. And you know who was our producer. At that time, he was the top arranger and producer, so no one wanted to quarrel with him, I was the only fool (smiles sadly) - so I paid for it in two years.

Everyone is singing, videos are being filmed, but I don't seem to exist! The state was terrible, as if you were banging your head against the wall. I wrote songs, finished my studies, communicated with the guys from the project.

But apparently it was not in vain that they were tormented, it was not for nothing that the contract with the ARS company, one of the largest in the domestic show business, became your producer, after all, Igor Krutoy himself became your producer?

Well, this is not entirely true, Igor Krutoy helps me with advice, I am glad that he likes what I do, but I am used to being responsible for everything I do myself. And Igor Krutoy and the ARS company give me such an opportunity, and I am very happy that everything is getting better in my life, I can continue to realize myself in music.

That is, it was not by chance that you decided to take part in the "New Wave" competition - after all, it is Igor Krutoy who is in charge of it?

Yes, that's not the point! Where was I to go? I wanted to sing, people around me said that I could do it. And "New Wave", in my opinion, is now the only fair competition for young performers, and believe me, I am not saying this because I have a contract with ARS, I really think so. Well, I decided to participate, it was necessary, somehow, to remind about myself.

There was no feeling of some superiority over the others? Still, the competition is for unknown young performers, and you are already a fairly experienced singer?

Yes, what a superiority there! I was terribly afraid, even before the very competition I grabbed a sore throat, a terrible thing, I wheeze, there is no voice, every day injections. Therefore, on the first day I sang in any way. It was then I tried to get myself together, I think, why did I come, just, so what? Well, and sang in third place. It's a shame, of course, I wanted to win so much (smiles) But now everything is only the first places in all competitions and festivals (slyly squints, then can't stand it and laughs).

I don't like to lose, what to do - that's my nature.

Well, with the new song you definitely won! And with the clip, it's a pleasure to watch, a very good video, in my opinion. "Lullaby" is a 100% hit, isn't it entirely your song?

You like? It's so great (eyes shine directly, mouth spreads into a wide smile, a little more - and Polina claps her hands)! I am very glad that what I am doing is liked by people, especially now, when I can bring my work to your judgment, to the judgment of the audience. My album, which will be released soon, consists entirely of my songs, they are different there, there are English-language ones, I am so waiting for it that I have no strength, so many emotions cannot be conveyed!

Share the secret of how to write a popular song?

I don't know … (smiles, shrugs) I have to sit down and write. Believe me, I really don't know, they appear somehow, they are born or something. Of course, it helps me that I have been making music since childhood, that my mother and grandmother tried to develop me creatively, but this is not all, there must be something else … I don’t know how to explain … (he pauses embarrassedly)

I have a feeling that I see an absolutely happy person in front of me, do you really like everything in our musical culture?

Of course not. For example, I really do not like it … Or rather, not like that (interrupts herself). I just don’t understand how it can be that the majority of contemporary performers do not have a musical education. A large number of those who simply do not know the notes! In my head does not fit, how then to sing something? (makes surprised eyes, shrugs), but they are singing …

Well, and the phonogram, of course … It's really interesting - everyone says about it that it is bad to sing to the phonogram, but they continue to sing.

Polina, are you now all in the creative process, do you have enough time for your personal life?

Enough, enough. To be honest, I've never suffered from a lack of attention from the opposite sex, but I'm still too small for a serious big feeling, probably. I am very in love, I can probably fall in love twice a day, but still I have friendly relations with the guys, there is still no one whom I would like to dwell on, you will probably immediately feel him.

I heard that you do not like modern technologies, I mean the Internet, strange for a modern girl

Yes, I don't know much about computers, thanks for the help of my friends, otherwise I could not even communicate with my fans on the site. I love them very much, all my listeners, because without them I as an artist are simply no one, so I answer everyone, everyone, to all letters without exception.

Do you consider yourself talented?

Well, I don’t know… Somehow I’m not very much about myself… (frowns)
