Some psychology buffs believe that color can affect mood. And according to the preference of this or that shade, one can allegedly even determine the character. The YouGov service specialists did not speculate about the psychological underpinnings of coloring and simply conducted an interesting survey to determine the most popular color.

Residents of 10 countries took part in the online YouGov survey - Great Britain, Germany, USA, Australia, China, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand and Indonesia. And according to the results, the most popular shade was named not gray at all, but blue.

Most of the respondents who prefer blue (33 percent) were in the UK. Least of all - in Indonesia (23 percent). At the same time, it is noted that in each of the countries, people who preferred this color turned out to be at least 8 percent more than lovers of any other tones.

By the way, according to The Independent, the most fashionable color of spring-summer 2015 is purple. The publication recommends combining purple in clothes with other colors, while avoiding combinations with black or pastel colors.

Green ranked second in Thailand, China and the United States, Indonesia, Singapore, Germany and the United Kingdom, followed by red, and purple in Hong Kong. In Australia and Malaysia, red and purple tied for second place.

As Lenta.ru writes, it was noticed that people's preferences depended on their gender. For example, in the United States, about 40 percent of men and 24 percent of women voted blue in the United States, and 40 and 27 percent, respectively, in the UK. In addition, the choice was influenced by race. Thus, in the United States, 30 percent of whites, 35 percent of blacks and 35 percent of Hispanics gave their vote to the winner of the rating.
